The importance of that cannot be overstated enough, in my opinion. All three signal callers below bring a different skill set, and at some point this June against Florida, South Carolina and North Carolina, all three will be called on in an important situation. Here’s a look at the experienced trio.
As a seventh-grader, Hand had a nice showing Prep Redzone Next Middle School Camp in Georgia last spring and then secured me as a believer with his performance in the Future Stars Game. He followed that up this year, as an eighth-grader, by standing out at a second PRZ Next Middle School camp this past January. You can now add a second Georgia Future Stars selection to his resume. A year ago I compared him to former five-star and current Louisville quarterback, Harrison Bailey. Hand hasn’t grown vertically all that much since last year, so I doubt he’ll reach the 6-foot-5 mark like Bailey, but he still has excellent size at 6-foot and 170 pounds. He knows the Future Stars landscape well and should provide ability and leadership.

In addition to Carson Hand Carson Hand 6’0″ | 170 lbs | QB Edmund Burke Academy | 2028 GA , the reigning MVP Cannon Robinson Cannon Robinson 6’0″ | 160 lbs | QB GA also returns to the team. The name Cannon fits the talented righty quarterback, because this kid can throw the ball all over the field. A standout at the Prep Redzone Next Camp in Atlanta a year ago, Robinson came away with the B2C Award for Quarterback of the Year this past season. As QB1 of the Real Deal Dream Chasers 13U squad, one of the most elite travel teams in the country, he put the nation on notice. Up two inches and 20 pounds to 5-foot-11 and 155-pounds, he’s starting to develop and will be a vert scary sight for defenses over the next four years.

Rounding out the experienced group that makes up the 2024 8th Grade Georgia Future Stars is quarterback Declan Wood Declan Wood 5’10” | 170 lbs | QB Saint Francis Middle | 2028 GA out of Saint Francis Middle School. Wood appears to have grown a good amount over the last year, now listing himself at 5-foot-10 and 170 pounds. With all three quarterbacks being more than capable but only one being able to play at at time, the reps will be important. Last year Wood took a bit of a backseat to Hand and the eventual-MVP Robinson, but it’s a clean slate this year and I expect him to step up in a big way.
