Hillsboro – Boom
– Brown (6’2″ 200) looked very good playing in his first 7v7 tournament of the year. He showed his usual good mechanics, quick feet and made good, quick reads and decisions using a strong arm and putting the ball on the money with nice velocity. Preston made a number of touchdown throws in games I watched. Whatever school who lands him will look very smart with his passing and running ability, leadership skills and determination to win.

-Following his winning the Class 6 state championship, Martin (6’4″ 195) has picked up where he left off from that in 7v7 action. Tillman, like Brown, is a big-time college QB prospect who only needs the opportunity to show he has the goods that other prospects in the state with D1 offers possess. He really sees the field well, finds the open man and makes the right throw needed showing good placement, touch or velocity firing it where only his receiver could make a play for a score.

Blue Springs South – STFFCA
– One of the top sophomore signal-callers I watched during the 2023 seasons was there and his game translates well to 7v7. Wilhelm (6’2″ 185) is a good athlete who can make and extend plays with his feet as well as his arm. He has good presence in the pocket and uses a quick release to hit his man after finding him open. He threw for over 2,000 yards and 21 TDs last season.

– Another sophomore with an impressive showing this past weekend also started for his high school part of last season, throwing for over 1,200 yards and 8 scores in the process. Besides his accuracy and ball placement, Deen (6’1″ 170) impressed with his ability to see the field and find the open man and make quick decisions and throws. Sam is a player to watch this season and going forward as he continues to develop.
