Makyree Cross Makyree Cross 6'1" | 160 lbs | QB Grayson | 2027 GA
2027 6’1 160 QB Grayson
Dual threat QB from power house Grayson. Showed his ability to roll out and tuck and run if he didn’t see anything he liked downfield. Good speed and is a deep ball threat. Accurate passer that threaded a couple balls in traffic. Finished the day on the winning team going 4 for 5 for 109 yards including a 20 yard TD. Positives: Tall and lean and will only get bigger over the next 3 years, speed, good deep ball threat. Negatives: Seems to always look for the long ball. As he matures he will learn to take what the defense gives. A QB to watch the next 3 years at Grayson with big upside potential.
2027 6’0 155 Dawson Co
The rising Sophomore signal caller had a good day on Sunday. He did throw one INT against a future D1 secondary but he completed 5 of 8 passes for a game high 143 yards putting him right over 28 yards per completion. Tough kid that plays with a lot of confidence. Consummate worker off the field. If there is an camp/game to show off his skills he is there.
Positives: Is good at recognizing what the defense gives him and makes quick decisions. Fearless and stands in the pocket.
Negatives: See above…Fearless and stands in the pocket. Could move his feet a little more to avoid taking big shots.
Dawson Co fans have a real good one to look forward to over the next 3 years.
Paris Wilbanks
6’0 185 Habersham Central
Solid built 2027 QB that can spin it. Dual threat that has enough speed and runs hard enough to be dangerous out of backfield. Can go over the top of the defense long but what I liked about him was the speed and zip he put on his short passes, maybe the best of the group at this skill this weekend. Went 4 of 6 for 64 yards on Sunday. Great off the field kid that is getting it done in the classroom.
Positives: Throws a really good ball with a lot of zip. Mobile and get away from pressure.
Negatives: I would like to see him get rid of the ball quicker, his mobility extended a few plays long enough for him to take a couple of big shots from the defense.
After seeing handful of Habersham kids at the game they look to be in good shape as a team down the road with Wilbanks at QB.
2027 5’8 135 South Forsyth
Watkins in stature was the smallest of the 4 QBs to participate by at least 3 inches and 40 pounds but he didn’t shy away from competition. Very good at throwing the ball accurately on the run. Quick feet that can get himself out of trouble and always has his eyes downfield. Good arm. Was 2 of 4 on Sunday including a 21 yard TD for the winning team.
Positives: Very accurate even when under pressure. Uses his legs well to avoid trouble.
Negatives: Obvious is size but he still has 3 years and has yet to hit his growth spurt.
One to follow at South Forsyth that has all the natural tools to be an outstanding QB.
