The Bulldogs worked on Sunday afternoon for about an hour and 10 minutes. The workout consisted of offensive skill guys and offensive lineman getting acclimated in t-shirts and shorts. A large chunk of the team was out as many are involved in spring sports.
“We’ve got a ton of guys that are lacrosse guys, track guys, baseball guys. We encourage that. We want our guys to be multi-sport guys. You can’t be mad at those guys, they’ve got to get their work in other sports so we’ve got to create time. If we can just get our guys here, be one unit and get a lot of reps in, that’s what we’re doing. Kids are working. Kids are showing up. That’s all you can ask for right now,” Reel said.
Quick Observations
- Quarterback Lincoln Huskey Lincoln Huskey 6'1" | 175 lbs | QB Boiling Springs | 2025 State SC is the Bulldogs’ leader and he looked efficient during the walk through period. He has really good vision stepping into his throws and leading his receivers to make plays. He made an impressive throw on a sail route towards the end of the session during ROAs (routes on air).
- Reel told Prep Redzone SC that the Bulldogs will return four starters on the offensive line and the focus is just continuing to develop with the guys that they have.
- Wide receiver Jhykayle Valentine (pictured above) impressed us with some nice catches on fade routes to the sideline. He runs precise routes, like on a dig.
- Here’s a name to keep your eye on: Adonis Edwards. Edwards is a transfer from nearby Byrnes who will play receiver for the Bulldogs. Reel says he will probably play defensive back as well. He made some impressive catches in traffic.
- Running back Ry’Shaun Morgan was someone who stood out to us. He has a good burst of speed when he gets into the open field and his ability to make a nice cut before getting into the open field.
The focus for the team before spring practice begins in May? Reel says to keep developing his guys.
“Be a little bit more concise with what we’re doing. Obviously we’re throwing a lot at them right now knowing that we can get those reps in… as spring goes on. We’ve still got this month and obviously spring ball in May so we’ve got a ton of time. We’ve got June and July as well so just throwing a lot at our guys right now and see how much they can handle and then every week watching those guys get a little more comfortable with what we’re doing.”
