With four incredibly storied Michigan Programs, there are always dozens of prospects worth keeping an eye on. This article will cover eight new prospects from the catholic league!
’25 G | Rocco Molly | Brother Rice | Hudl
Rocco looked like a solid guard who played well against top competition in the catholic league. The biggest knock on Rocco is his size as he’s only 6ft, which unfortunately will severely hurt his OL recruitment. As you’ll see, Rocco is capable in zone blocking, pulling, and blocking at the second level. He isn’t the most aggressive lineman I’ve seen, but he gets the job done. Excited to see how he fares in his Senior season as Brother Rice has their first season under the new regime.
LB/ATH | Sam Henry Sam Henry 5'10" | 175 lbs | DB Brother Rice | 2025 MI | Brother Rice | Hudl
Sam was a major bright spot for Brother Rice last season. He’s a tough off-ball linebacker who isn’t afraid to get his nose dirty in the middle of the field, and he’s a capable blitzer. Against inside runs, Sam does a good job at filling gaps and stopping the running back in his tracks without allowing any extra yards. He also does a decent job at working through blocks. He sometimes lines up on the outside, where he sets a good edge and shows off some explosiveness with the blitz. My gut tells me that Sam Henry Sam Henry 5'10" | 175 lbs | DB Brother Rice | 2025 MI is going to be a phenomenal Division 3 prospect.
DB | Alex Grochowski | Brother Rice | Hudl
Say what you want about Brother Rice as a whole last year, but I’ve always loved their DB play. Alex is one of those scrappy DBs who gives full effort every down and has some great moments on film. He has a couple of highlights of press coverage where he completely eliminated a receiver from the play. In man coverage, he can get a bit undisciplined, and his athleticism can use a bit of work. Though he’s fundamentally very sound and is able to play the ball when it comes his way. He’s also good in run defense, shedding blocks and making sound tackles. I’ve noticed that Alex has been putting in some offseason work, and with continued consistent work this offseason, he can easily earn college attention by this summer.
LB | Nolan Hannawa | Brother Rice | Hudl
I really like Nolan’s Junior tape. He’s an off-ball backer playing primarily in the middle. He’s aggressive and a bit more reactive than most other linebackers. Once he diagnoses the play, he sprints to the ball carrier and oftentimes lays down a massive hit. He also seems to have a high motor, making sure to come in and assist in tackles. This offseason I’d be interested in seeing how athletic Nolan is and how he fares in pass coverage.
WR | Jacob Johnson Jacob Johnson 5'9" | 150 lbs | WR Brother Rice | 2026 State MI | Brother Rice | Hudl
Jacob unfortunately doesn’t have full season highlights up, but his week 1-3 highlights are incredible. I love his release, fast feet, catch in traffic, hands, and route running. He’s a shifty outside receiver who has a ton of athletic upside. His great change of direction and explosiveness allows him to create separation, and his sure hands allow him to make difficult catches in traffic. He could be a bit more polished in actually earning separation, and he has the potential to be one of the best route runners / deep threat receivers in Michigan. I’d also love to see improvements in contact balance and open-field ability. If he’s able to really focus on the little things, he could be a dominant receiver next fall and truly take off during his Junior season.
T | Eric Anderson Eric Anderson 6'4" | 270 lbs | OL Detroit Catholic Central | 2027 State MI | Catholic Central | Hudl
Eric’s most intriguing trait is his good size at 6’4″ 235lbs. He’s someone who’s lined up all around the offensive line, and he’s capable anywhere you want to put him. Fundamentally, he’s raw, which is to be expected from a 2027 prospect. He’s not as aggressive as I’d like, but he still makes an effort to finish his blocks. His pad level could also use work. Still, it’s very impressive that he’s earned Varsity time. He’s a player to keep a close eye on, and I’m looking forward to seeing how Eric improves throughout this offseason.
RB/ATH | Lee Krueger | Catholic Central | Hudl
Lee is one of the hardest hitters in the catholic league. His athletic traits are okay, as he hits running lanes hard and relentlessly runs north-south, but he is unproven with his change of direction and overall open-field ability. The trait I really want to highlight is his hit stick. There are several highlights where Lee lays the wood on an opposing player, whether that be trucking someone on a run or laying a massive hit on defense. It’s rare that someone is so fearless and relentless with their hitting. With that kind of hard-nosed attitude, Lee seems like a great football player, just needs to stand out a little more at one position in order to get that college attention,
RB/S | Cedric Williams Cedric Williams 5'10" | 175 lbs | RB Detroit Catholic Central | 2026 State MI | Catholic Central | Hudl
Cedric could develop into a phenomenal prospect in these next two seasons. As it currently stands, he’s a great running back who has an amazing athletic foundation. He explodes through his holes, is able to outrun the vast majority of defenders, and he’s shown flashes in making people miss in the open field. However, he could improve his vision and contact balance. As a safety, he looks raw, but his athleticism gives him great closing speed. I think Cedric could be a phenomenal running back or safety prospect in the near future!
