It's surprising how many new players I discovered from this league. Honestly, I've mostly only heard of these teams in passing. Today, I'll feature 11 versatile prospects from the Catholic International 1 league, some of which have phenomenal D3-D2 college potential. This article specifically will cover six players from AA Gabriel Richard, Detroit Loyola, and University Liggett.

Look out for Part 2, releasing later today!

LB | [player_tooltip player_id='1184520' first='Pat' last='Dyer'] | AA Gabirel Richard | Hudl

Pat is a solid off-ball middle linebacker. He's best at stopping the run between the tackles. No matter what the play is, Pat reacts quickly and launches himself toward the ballcarrier with high effort. He sometimes doesn't have the athleticism to be a dominant sideline-to-sideline player, but up between the tackles, he's great. High effort, hits very hard, and promising effort in his highlight tape. He could be a good D3 college prospect.

IOL | [player_tooltip player_id='1290605' first='Bryson' last='Franklin'] | Gabriel Richard | Hudl

Bryson is a flat-out mauler as a high school offensive lineman. It's unfortunate that he's undersized for the college level, because his power and effort in his highlight tape is very good. His size does help him with his leverage and pad level, and he's able to get under his defender consistently and he moves bodies. Bryson is also trusted to pull, lead block, and block at the second level quite a bit, and he's successful in those areas. Bryson would be a phenomenal college Rugby player, and if he wanted to keep playing football, I bet he could find some opportunities to do that as well.

OLB/EDGE | [player_tooltip player_id='1225798' first='Matthew' last='Hoban'] | Gabriel Richard | Hudl

Matthew is an on-ball outside linebacker / edge rusher. His biggest strength is his instincts, as there are several high IQ plays while setting the edge or rushing the passer. Matthew isn't asked to go hog wild and rush the passer like an Aiden Hutchenson would. Instead, his main priority a lot of the time is to be that guy who sets the edge and, at times, defends the flat. Matthew is a great player playing that role. He also looks decent with his late-play block shedding and his motor looks good.

LB | [player_tooltip player_id='1290610' first='Patrick' last='Green Jr'] | Detroit Loyola | Hudl

[player_tooltip player_id='1290610' first='Patrick' last='Green Jr'] is an off-ball linebacker with a lot of potential. He's at his best defending runs between the tackles and sometimes delivers good hits. He's not timid, but he sometimes waits a tad long to go and attack the ball carrier. In other words, he lets the runner come to him instead of being the aggressor, which allows the running back to gain a few extra yards. If Patrick can improve his athleticism and motor, then he could have a breakout senior season.

WR | Marvin Hartfield | University Liggett | Hudl

This is a good possession receiver who seemed to haul in a lot of catches last season. He runs the route tree pretty well, and his QB does a good job hitting him with decent timing. Once Marvin catches the ball, he does his best to shake defenders and run downfield. Marvin possesses some big-play ability, but he could significantly enhance this aspect with better athleticism and practice. He does seem to have good hands and he hauled in more than a few contested catches, which is an area that a ton of receivers struggle in.

QB | [player_tooltip player_id='1225800' first='Nikkos' last='Davis'] | University Liggett | Hudl

Nikkos is a quarterback worth diving deeper into. His film shows obvious arm talent. I like his release, throw power, and he demonstrates good timing on a few occasions. When his first read is open, he seems to throw on time and confidently. When he's forced to run outside the pocket and improvise, which is a lot, he does a good job keeping his eyes downfield and throwing on the run to a receiver in stride. I also know that he's repped in 7on7. Nikkos is in the class of 2026, so he has two more years to refine his craft. I strongly believe that Nikkos could develop into a great Quarterback prospect. My gut tells me that he has a GLIAC ceiling.
