With four incredibly storied Michigan Programs, there are always dozens of prospects worth keeping an eye on. This article will cover eight new prospects from the catholic league!
DB | River Chaney | Catholic Central | Hudl
River is coming off a great Junior season, and I am not surprised to see Wayne State offer. His reaction time and closing speed are both great. His best highlights showcase great feet, hips, and closing speed on the ball. Several highlights showcase explosiveness as he closes in on a receiver. He’s also good as a run defender, but could be a touch more aggressive in that area.
QB | PJ Sofran | Catholic Central | Hudl
It’s likely going to be a while before PJ sees the Varsity field, but I like what he put out in his freshman tape. Namely, I love his quick release and accuracy on some of his deep throws. His overall throwing mechanics and fundamentals need work- but he has obvious arm talent and a quick release that will bode well for him moving forward. He also needs work reading the field, as he oftentimes locks onto his first read, but he has plenty of time to improve. If he’s able to continue learning the game while sharpening his already great arm talent, he could be a phenomenal QB prospect in a few years.
TE | Jayden Savoury Jayden Savoury 6'6" | 220 lbs | TE Orchard Lake St. Mary's | 2025 State MI | OLSM | Hudl
Jayden is a decently versatile tight end, and I can definitely see why he’s considered a power 5 prospect. The main draw for Jayden is his phenomenal size. At 6’6″ 220, he has the height and the arm length to develop into an incredibly good in-line tight end down the road. Right now, he’s a great receiving threat who shows some potential as a prototypical college tight end, though I could also see him as a full-fledged outside receiver.
He doesn’t line up in-line too much, yet he has some blocking highlights that indicate good physicality. He also flashes good contact balance, considering this tall and relatively lean frame. You’ve also got to love what he’s able to do on the hardwood, as he’s a key contributor to the #1 ranked OLSM basketball program. I believe Jayden is still a little raw as a tight end, but as long as he’s willing to put in the work I see no reason why he can’t be a great B1G 10 tight end in the future.
DB | Christopher Coates | OLSM | Hudl
Coates is a versatile DB, showing a great motor on tape. His pass defense highlights show him going stride-for-stride with some good receivers. When the ball is thrown his way, he does his best to make a play on the ball, usually going for the interception if he has the opportunity to do so. There are a few other plays showing phenomenal effort where the opposing offense is developing an explosive play on the other side of the field, and Christopher is able to sprint his way to a TD-saving tackle. Effort and motor is extremely important for me when evaluating a prospect, and Christopher seems to have it. He’s also good at shedding blocks and crashing down on the ballcarrier in run defense.
G/T | Kinnus Paul II Kinnus Paul II 6'3" | 290 lbs | OL St. Mary's | 2026 State MI | OLSM | Hudl
Already sporting great power, Kinnus Paul II Kinnus Paul II 6'3" | 290 lbs | OL St. Mary's | 2026 State MI could develop into a Division 1 lineman. As I mentioned, his best trait is his power. Kinnus is able to make pancakes look effortless, and he has several highlights showcasing him making quick work of opposing D-Linemen. One area where he needs improvement is his overall agility. He’s as strong as an ox, but I currently don’t see much when it comes to lateral movement or second-level blocking. If he can improve in that area while staying tenacious, he’ll be a Division 2 prospect at the very least.
DB | Clarence Glasker II Clarence Glasker II 5'11" | 175 lbs | DB Orchard Lake St. Mary's Prep | 2026 State MI | OLSM | Hudl
Glasker is a sticky DB, rarely gives up a step, and when he does, his closing speed and ball skills oftentimes make up for any early-play mistakes. I like how patient he is in the beginning of the play. He doesn’t bite on anything and is quick to react to any change in direction from the wide receiver. I love his highlights in man coverage. He also has a few good highlights at running back, further showcasing his athleticism. He’s also a decent run defender.
TE | Zackary Wagner Zackary Wagner 6'4" | 210 lbs | TE De La Salle | 2026 State MI | De La Salle | Hudl
Currently, Zackary is a raw tight end prospect. Though I’m highly optimistic about his potential moving forward. I’m most optimistic about his athletic foundation and his blocking ability. As an athlete, he has decent speed. As a blocker, he’s tenacious, finishes his blocks, and is not afraid to hit. He’s a bit undersized at the moment and unproven in the receiving game. If he’s able to bulk up, I could see Zackary becoming a phenomenal tight-end prospect.
DT | Jacob Tur Jacob Tur 6'2" | 240 lbs | DL De La Salle | 2025 State MI | De La Salle | Hudl
My favorite film to watch has to be those of dominant interior defensive linemen, and Jacob is definitely one of those guys. Against some amazing competition, Jacob has been able to violently shed blocks, get in the backfield, stop the run, and even make plays on the sideline at times. I especially like his highlights against Toledo Central Catholic and Muskegon, two programs with phenomenal O-Line play. Jacob is able to violently shed blocks, mostly from a great push-pull move. His highlights also indicate a great motor, which is incredibly important for any interior defensive lineman. There’s no surprise that he currently holds two MAC offers, and more should come if he continues to improve.
