Continue ReadingPeter Ramil Peter Ramil 6’4″ | 230 lbs | DL Thompson | 2026 State AL is a talented defensive lineman that is transferring from New York state to Alabama to join Thompson’s roster for this upcoming season. Ramil is the younger brother of former Thompson now Michigan State offensive linemen Stanton Ramil, and similar to his brother has a ton of athleticism/talent at his position. Ramil has a lot of talents at EDGE- he can both fly by and power through offensive linemen with a lot of ease to make plays in the backfield. He’s frequently a threat against opposing passing attacks with how well he’s able to both pressure and bring down the quarterback. Outside of the pass, Ramil can cause a lot of chaos against the run as well. He is a terrific tackler that has great pursuit skills, a great motor, and a physical playstyle that really makes a big impact against opposing teams. Keep an eye on Ramil this season, he’s bringing a ton of talent to Thompson’s defense!
Zay Hall is a dominant linebacker out of Paul W Bryant that can really slow down opposing offenses in a variety of ways. He has a lot of sideline to sideline athleticism that allows him to maneuver all around the field to make plays. If its against the run, he helps close up gaps and makes a lot of tackles both at and before the line of scrimmage- it’s rare that the ball carrier can make it into the open field with Hall commanding their defense. Against the pass, Hall is an efficient blitzer and can provide some good coverage in the middle of the field as well. He has great anticipation skills that allow him to always be in the right place at the right time- it’s impressive how well he already understands the game. Last fall, Hall recorded 77 total tackles (5 for loss, 47 solo) and made an impact all over the field, keep an eye on him this season to see how he performs!
Highlights
Carnell Jackson Carnell Jackson 6’3″ | 320 lbs | DL Auburn | 2026 State AL is a terrific defensive tackle/nose guard that has really bolstered Auburn’s defensive front over the last few seasons. Standing at 6’3 320, Jackson is a massive lineman that takes a lot to move. He’s a huge factor in run defense- he anchors himself really well and clogs up run lanes to stop running backs dead in their tracks. Jackson also moves really well despite his size, he has a lot of pursuit skills that allow him to make plays across the field from where he initially lined up. It’s really impressive seeing how well he can move around the field, he has a lot of potential in Auburn’s defense. With how well he played last fall in limited snaps, Jackson is going to be a player to really be on the lookout for this upcoming season.
Garrett Witherington Garrett Witherington 6’5″ | 250 lbs | DL Briarwood Christian | 2026 State AL is a really talented EDGE/DL hybrid for Briarwood Christian that has the athleticism and skills to make a ton of big plays for his defense. Witherington can set the edge really well- he does a great job containing and doesn’t allow the ball carrier to escape to the outside. Against the run, he really does a great job wrapping up the ball carrier before they can break past the line of scrimmage- he has some seriously impressive tackling skills already as an underclassmen, as he continues to develop he’s going to cause even more havoc. Against the pass, Witherington has already shown that he has a good variety of moves and knows when to use them. He frequently pressures the passer and doesn’t give the offense anytime to react or make plays. Keep an eye on him this fall, he’s already picked up offers from California and UAB, with how well he’s been playing that list will continue to grow!
