Prep Redzone has the details…
Quindarius Brown – RB – Swainsboro
One of the fastest returning backs in South Georgia for the 2024 season, Brown is an explosive runner who was towards the top of the Single-A rushing list last season as a junior. He wasn’t asked to carry the load completely, sharing the ball with one of the top prospects across the country, but in a run-heavy offense, Brown’s presence was needed on a consistent basis throughout the season. The dynamic playmaker led the Tigers back to the state championship game last year and will hope to lead them all the way next season as a senior. He’s coming off a very productive 2023 season where he ran for a strong 1,042 yards and 15 touchdowns. Browns ability to fly through the hole and elude defenders at the second level makes him one of the top returning backs in the area. He runs bigger than his size and does a good job of keeping his balance after initial contact. His recruitment is picking up, and he recently earned his 4th offer from the Marshall Thundering Herd. Look for more to come his way over the next few months.
Michael Gilliam – ATH – Lovejoy
A true under-the-radar athlete who can stretch the field as a pass-catcher, Gilliam is a weapon in the pass game due to his straight-line speed and reliable hands. He’s quick, shows good burst, and does a good job of finding his way past defensive backs down the field. The 6-foot-1 175-pounder south of Atlanta is one of the more slept on receivers in the area and knows how to score when he has the football. He only caught 14 passes, but he took them 347 yards and six touchdowns. He’s a natural with the ball who shows good vision and quickness in the open field. His best football is way ahead of him, and college coaches are starting to notice. This matro-Atlanta playmaker is starting to see his recruitment pick up, and he’s recently reeled in a new offer from Dartmouth. He’s a receiver on the rise who could see more smaller D1 offers come his way this off-season.
Ethan Johnson – Decatur
A big, physical prospect who shines at both linebacker and on special teams, Johnson is a strong athlete with excellent size at 6-foot-3 210-pounds. He’s got the ability to add even more muscle, but right now, he’s already strong enough to shed blocks and deliver a strong hit. He could be used as a big safety right now, but as he continues to grow and add more mass he’ll likely move closer down to the line of scrimmage. He shows good instincts against the run and does a great job of getting to the ball-carrier behind the line of scrimmage. He’s a max-effort type of player who plays hard, loves to compete, and shows easy D1-caliber talent. His recruitment is starting to pick up, and now he’s earned a recent offer from Georgia State. As a junior last fall, this up and coming defender made 86 tackles, 15 TFLs, four sacks and three fumble recoveries. He’s an active prospect who makes plays, and more offers could come his way soon. He’s a sleeper defender on the rise in metro-Atlanta with the potential to have a giant senior season later this year.
