The 6’4″ mammoth of a man is developing into a nightmare for defenses. The 3-star recruit has always had fantastic footwork and hand-placement for his age. He’s quick off the line and has a good head on his shoulders. He’s able to play both sides of the ball and is a guy who is nimble enough to play on the interior, but with his length will likely protect the exterior. With offers from Northwestern, Iowa, Boston College, and West Virginia, the race for the Warren Central stud is on and it’ll be a good one to watch.
There are 2 top-notch recruits anchoring the line for Carmel and Pollard is one of them. He’s a 3-star recruit who has developed, put the work in, and earned those stars the hard way. He’s someone you know you can count on and who will show up rep in and rep out. He’s got the right mindset to have upfront and is quickly picking up offers. Kent State, Ball State, Central Michigan, and Indiana have all jumped on the wagon, but there will certainly be more offers coming his way.
Parker is the 2nd of the 3-star recruits upfront for Carmel and what he brings to the table is a violent player who likes to clear the way and should be incredibly valuable to the interior of the offensive line on Saturdays. He’s great in the running game and once he gets up to the D1 speed, should be able to step in and play. He’s got the strength, hand-eye coordination and size. He’s committed to IU and hopefully, staying close to home is the perfect fit for the Carmel product.
Brasher impressed at the most recent Prep Redzone camp in December, has always been a key part of the Evansville North line, and is beginning to get those D1 looks. He’s reliable, is one of the strongest linemen in the class, and his footwork is fantastic for a high school player. It was so clean at the camp I asked him to switch sides. I’m a bit shocked he hasn’t earned some level of stars from 247 but I’ve got him at 4 and feel strongly about him as a player. Air Force and Army have jumped in and offered Brasher, but I’d expect more offers soon.
Highlights
Gorin is a lengthy and lean tackle who has some of the most impressive tape out of anyone in the class. He’s a high motor guy who can get up the field and clear the way. He’s good on the move, yet isn’t someone who gets carried away looking for contact. He’ll stick to his job, scan properly, and protect the QB’s blindside. His length gives him the advantage on just about every rep and you can see why he’s a 3-star OL prospect. Ball State, Boston College, Bowling Green, Eastern Michigan, and IU have bids in on the HSE prospect already, but that list will continue to grow.
Notable Recruits To Watch
Huggins is a phenomenal prospect in his own rights and has eyes all over him. If this class wasn’t as loaded as it is, I’d be willing to bet Huggins would have 3-4 times the offers he does. He’s a legit player upfront with good size, footwork, and plenty of reps for a high quality program who compete against the best players in Indiana. I’m a big fan of Huggins and the way he works as well. Always posting clips, going to camps, and trying to get that extra work in. It’ll pay off for Huggins in the long-term, I know that.
Highlights
Kozecar is a small school stud with big talents. If he went to a bigger school, there’s no doubt he’d have plenty of eyes and people all over him. He’s as consistent and reliable as they come up front. Quietly earning back-to-back All-State nods, it’s clear the coaches in Indiana acknowledge he can play. It’s only a matter of time until universities across the country catch on. A 6’3″ and 280lbs offensive lineman who lives in the weight room is typically a good guy to bring in, and Kozecar is one of them.
Highlights
Tucked away in St. John, Indiana is a 6’5″ 275lbs tackle who has been fantastic for Lake Central since he first stepped on the field. The only thing he’s done since then is improve, put in the work in the weight room, & turn into a leader for that program. His hands are massive and he’s able to lock onto just about any defender without them reaching him. He’s able to drive through contact and level defenders with the leverage his height gives him. Johnsen is criminally underrated when looking at the entire picture and some school will get a great addition.
