5A Special District 2 looks to be the top conference in the state with Wilsonville, Silverton, and potentially Canby all ranking among the top 5 teams in Oregon. The six-team league will also include a rising Central program, along with McKay and Woodburn. Have a look at the conference player of the year candidates on each side of the ball...

1.[player_tooltip player_id='511864' first='Mark' last='Wiepert'] 25' DB Wilsonville

Oregon's Offensive Player of the Year is equally good on D. The Beavers baseball commit could probably play football for Oregon St as well. Wiepert earned 1st team all-state honors from his strong safety spot, putting up a ridiculous stat line which included 121 total tackles and 7 tackles for loss.

2.[player_tooltip player_id='1095838' first='Jack' last='Brauckmiller'] 27' DE/OLB Canby

Brauckmiller earned all-conference honors on both sides of the ball as a freshman and has an unlimited ceiling. Where he projects position wise is still up in the air, as he will likely be able to play multiple spots at the highest level collegiately. He made 22 total tackles with a team leading 4 INTs last season.

3.[player_tooltip player_id='406775' first='William' last='Ingle'] 25' LB Wilsonville

The brother of 2x TRL POY Earl Ingle showed off his talent last season, earning 1st team all-state honors and making a name for himself. The numbers speak for themselves with Will possessing maybe the top overall stat line in the state with 93 total tackles, 15 tackles for loss, and 6 sacks.

4.[player_tooltip player_id='1326761' first='Eli' last='Willis'] 25' DL Silverton

One of the best and yet unknown players in Oregon. Willis racked up 1st team all-state honors on both sides of the football last season. An extremely rare feat. He will be a big reason that the Foxes have a legit shot at a state title in 2024.

5.[player_tooltip player_id='406754' first='Jackson' last='Doman'] 25' LB Canby HM

The 6-5 safety is about as versatile as they come. He could be a 100+ tackle guy this coming season with double digit sacks. He is one of the only players in Oregon who could legitimately play at the D1 level on either side of the ball.

6.[player_tooltip player_id='1538661' first='Daniel' last='Kuenzi'] 25' LB Silverton 1st

The 6-1 190-pound LB had an unreal junior campaign, racking up 1st team all-state honors. The Foxes went 11-1, losing in the state semis to Mountain View. With both Kuenzi's, Teeney, Willis, and others Silverton will be ranked #1 or #2 in the state.

7.[player_tooltip player_id='754633' first='Asa' last='Pritchard-Moa'] 25' S Central

Watch this kid's film and you see a physical safety who only knows how to play at one speed. His 46 total tackles from last season are just a glimpse of what he could do this year.

8.[player_tooltip player_id='1320115' first='Porter' last='Keeney'] 25' DE Central

Keeney is one of the top players in Oregon you don't know about yet. The 6-4 215-pound DE made 28 total tackles, with 4 TFL's, and 2 sacks last year. The Panthers should be much improved with a lot of young talent on the roster.

9.[player_tooltip player_id='902459' first='Gabe' last='Haines'] 25' DL Central

The 2x 1st team all league OL might end up being one of the top recruits in the state for his class. At 6-4 290 pounds he will be a force on the defensive side of the ball while projecting on O. He finished among the conference leaders last season in tackles for loss with 6.

10.[player_tooltip player_id='754684' first='Brady' last='Ackerman'] 25' DE Canby

Ackerman is undersized for the position (6-1 210) but made countless plays for the Cougars last season, finishing with an impressive 49 total tackles and 6 tackles for loss. If this ends up being Canby's year it will be because kids like Ackerman step up.
