With the spring/summer looming and players prepare for their 7v7 seasons and people like me being impatient on waiting for the HS football season, I'm taking a look into conferences and positions within those conferences. Here is the NWC, starting with QB's.

Lynden HS: [player_tooltip player_id='945865' first='Brant' last='Heppner'] c/o 2025 - Brant is a big framed QB who runs the ball well when scrambling outside the pocket. He struggled at times with his accuracy but he is a winner and knows how to get the job done. He is going to have a big senior year next season.

Sehome HS: [player_tooltip player_id='726166' first='Nolan' last='Wright'] c/o 2026 - Nolan is arguably the best QB in this conference, already having 2 years of experience under his belt. He is an accurate passer in the pocket or on the run and has great speed when there's open field in front of him. His junior year is going to showcase his ability to be able to play at a high level beyond HS.

Squalicum HS: [player_tooltip player_id='693680' first='Marcus' last='Nixon'] c/o 2025 - Even with Marcus playing out of his natural position, he is still a top player in the entire conference. His athleticism is known and seen when he steps on the field. He evades opposing players with ease and sees the field extremely well. He has a solid arm and his accuracy was improving throughout the season and should be even more improved next year.

Lakewood HS: Nash Espe c/o 2025 - Nash is a solid quarterback who runs his offense very well. They are a run heavy team but Nash knows how to control the clock well and be a solid game-manager. Heading into his 2nd year as the starter, he should be more comfortable behind center.

Mount Baker HS: Setoga Tigilau c/o 2026 - Setoga is a junior to be and had a very solid first year as the starter for Mount Baker. This is always a very run heavy team but Setoga showed promise when he was given the chance to throw the ball. He will be an even bigger part of the offense next year and should showcase his arm abilities more.

Meridian HS: Jaeger Fyfe c/o 2025 - Jaeger is one of my favorite players to watch in the conference. He has continuously showed improvements on the field with his accuracy, throwing power, and vision of the field. Meridian's top running back is graduating so I expect Fyfe to air it out more next year.

Blaine HS: Colin Davis c/o 2025 - Colin is a player who I think is going to have a big time season, showing a ton of improvement compared to last season. Towards the end of the season, Davis was already a much improved game manager for the Borderites. Now having a year under the new offense put in by new the coach, Colin will be ready to show his improvements.

Teams With Starters Graduating: Lynden Christian, Nooksack Valley, Burlington-Edison, Sedro-Woolley, Anacortes, Archbishop Murphy
