Continue ReadingThis article concentrates on my top athletes from our PRZ Next Winter camps this past December and January. I took into account their performance from camp, and each individual’s resume placed on the field this past fall. All five guys are a threat and might crossover into RB, WR territory or on the other side of the ball at DB. No matter what their called on to do, these guys have had success on the grid iron in more than one role.
1.) Ky’ren “Goatman”Edmon
Grades (out of 10)
Vision (8.5) Has a natural instinct to feel and see it before or as its happening with the ability to react
Speed (8) 4.78 40yd time at camp. Great acceleration and will pull away from defenders.
Power (8) Body composition is ahead of schedule. Runs with purpose and attitude. Breaks tackles and gives maximum effort pulling through contact.
Balance (8.5) Strong lower body. Does a good job running with lean and control mixed in with urgency.
Ball Skills/Security (8.5) Dominated every rep during 1v1 in camp. Doesn’t put the ball on the ground. Has soft hands.
BPA-Big Play Ability (8) Elusive strength is a recipe for greatness. Can run over or around you and do the same thing in the passing game. Definitely a threat every time his number is called.
I’m going to say it like this….Edmon has one of the best grades between RBs and ATHs. He’s listed as both in some publications, however, whatever tag you want to put on him. He can run, catch, and protect the rock. He is a football player PERIOD!
Writer Patton Fitzpatrick believed one of top performers at any camp regardless of position. Named him RB MVP.

2.) Jordon Ward
Grades (out of 10)
Vision (8) See field better out of the backfield. Does a good job keeping head up and manipulating weak areas in coverage.
Speed (8) Decent speed. Has really good feet in traffic.
Power (7.5) Errors to the side of making people miss or try to outrun.
Balance (7.5) Stopped arms on a few times during shuttle and cone drills. Over extending to reach cut point. Overall does a solid job on getting in and out of breaks.
Ball Skills/Security (8) Can let ball get to body at times on easy throws. Doesn’t give up on routes. Has a nice double move on top of break.
BPA-Big Play Ability (8) Can be moved around. Bigger threat outside and once behind first level.
Has a RB background, but has a nice game at slot/wr plays. More work in the weight room could land him permanently in the RB room or if he continues to stretch out and stay proportioned then being a true athlete would make the most sense and use Jordon to create mismatches.
Writer Drew Toennies had him as RB MVP and felt he was impactful with the ability to be used in a multi-faceted role.

3.) Kyle Sledge Jr.
Grades (out of 10)
Vision (7.5) More of a straight liner who takes what if there. High football IQ
Speed (8) Don’t let the long stride length fool you. Kyle can maintain separation pretty well. Good footwork.
Power (8) No stranger to weights and has a nice build. Doesn’t shy from contact.
Balance (8) You can tell Sledge works on his feet placement and agility drills. Moves around well for size.
Ball Skills/Security (8) Reliable hands and gets off L.O.S. with urgency and is physical enough to fight for jump balls.
BPA-Big Play Ability (7.5) Solid option. Can play inside or outside at receiver.
I like Sledge’s approach to camp and the game. Can play on the defensive side of the ball as well. Good all around football athlete.
Writer Drew Toennies had him as Top Performer and felt his mechanics and attention to detail separated him.
Highlights
4.) Jack Ferguson Jack Ferguson 5’6″ | 165 lbs | ATH Baylor | 2028 TN
Grades (out of 10)
Vision (8) Jack has juke moves and can see little creases to escape to
Speed (7.5) More quick than fast but either way he’s getting there.
Power (7.5) Height on top of weight makes him compact and strong. Don’t think he’s a lay up or you might end up laid out.
Balance (8) Jack knows who he is and plays to his strengths. His low center of gravity is a positive attribute. Has great body control running with the ball and/or adjusting to bad balls in the air.
Ball Skills/Security (8) Good hands and protects the ball and himself well
BPA-Big Play Ability (7.5) Explosive by nature and will sneak up and wow the crowd from time to time.
I would not call Jack undersized. He is evenly built and has a lot of goodies in his goodie bag. Physical and plays with chip on shoulder. Fun to watch.
Writer Drew Toennies appreciated his footwork through drills. Was a MVP candidate.

5.) Jett FrankumrnGrades (out of 10)
Vision (8) Good feel for cutback lanes
Speed (7.5) Gets off line quick. Shows points of explosive movements. Needs to work on 3rd gears and up to become a homerun hitter.
Power (8) Lower pads when he needs to. Strong up top and down low.
Balance (8) Keeps nose over toes and controls movements well.
Ball Skills/Security (8.5) Amazing hands. Catches ball away from body like he has spider-mans gloves on.
BPA-Big Play Ability (7.5) Play maker for sure. Needs to be in the right system to consistently rip off big plays.
Love the name Jett and he plays like one. Solid athlete all around and will develop in a high school environment quicker than most.
Writer Michael Knight believes Jett will help Plainview contend for a State title in the near future.
