The camp was held by 612Qs founder Quinn Frisell and JC Boice, a well-known quarterback trainer known across North America that has trained quarterbacks from all over the US and Canada for several years. What I loved most about this camp is it was not just reps on reps for the quarterbacks in attendance, I thought it painted a great picture of the science side of what playing the quarterback is all about and each young men in attendance got the understand the science in a layout that was simple and easy for even the youngest quarterbacks in the room could understand.
We got to hang around all night for Friday night’s session and will break out our quarterback standouts in multiple parts over the coming days, starting with Part I, which answers the questions. Who saw their stock rise? Who are some of the top 2027 quarterbacks in Minnesota? And more.
A 2025 QB prospect that I thought showed solid growth from the start of camp to finish on Friday night was St. Cloud Tech’s Noah Theis Noah Theis 6’0″ | 160 lbs | QB St. Cloud Tech | 2025 MN . From my early look, I liked the poise I saw from Noah working thru his body rotation in the early drills to get a full scope of making his flexibility more comfortable by slowing down his pace and then with repetitions, getting more speed thru his reps. From the reps I watched later on Friday night from Noah, he steadily impressed me with his touch he put on some of his intermediate routes on a consistent basis. He has some development on tape to balance out his footwork, but I like the elusiveness and quick release Noah puts out on tape within the pocket. Twitter

One of three 2027 QB prospects you will find on our lists in the coming days is Caden Gutzmer Caden Gutzmer 6’1″ | 170 lbs | QB Minnetonka | 2027 MN out of Minnetonka, as another QB prospect from the QB tree the Skippers have created over the last handful of years. I loved watching the poise this young man had for his age as he carried himself like an upperclassmen on his reps and off his reps from a solid character perspective. Caden was also impressive with the consistency of his ball-fitting ability, as he was able to get into some tight windows with his throws. He also showed off well-versed arm strength that impressed with some of the off-platform throws he had to match later on Friday night. I always love the consistency from live evals to tape, as many of the skillsets I mentioned are the first ones that pop out on Caden in tape. He certainly is in the conversation for one of the top 2027 quarterbacks in Minnesota in my eyes. Twitter

If I had to make a selection for the biggest stockriser from start to end on Friday night, my selection would be for Champlin Park’s Preston Thielke Preston Thielke 6’3″ | 180 lbs | QB Champlin Park | 2025 State MN . Preston was highly impressive with his arm strength with the off-platform throws he made in his later reps and his precision stuck out aligned well with his arm strength. Preston also stuck out with his dexterity he showed off from the early drills, as it was intriguing to see how much flexibility this 6’3 190 pound quarterback had from top to bottom with his upper and lower body. The tape shows off a fiery quick release and Preston certainly shows off his athleticism with quick releasing speed he has to get out of the pocket and make a play at his disposal. He is certainly one from the NW Metro I will be tracking this summer at camps as a multi-sport athlete as well. Twitter
The second 2027 quarterback prospect that popped out in Savage on Friday night was Rosemount’s Tristan Karl Tristan Karl 6’0″ | 170 lbs | QB Rosemount | 2027 MN . To be honest, I did not know Tristan was just a freshmen until tonight, which to me shows off how well he elevated his game with the upperclassmen last Friday. Tristan was one that I was impressed with his balanced rhythm he showed off from the reps I watched from start to finish in which I could tell from start to finish of camp his poise grew a ton. You can already tell that over the coming years with his quick release, that Tristan is going to show off athleticism outside of the pocket with his legs to get yards upfield as you could see a handful of it at camp on Friday night. I am starting to really love this 2027 QB class Minnesota has cooking as Tristan Karl Tristan Karl 6’0″ | 170 lbs | QB Rosemount | 2027 MN is another one to know early out of the Metro. Twitter

I absolutely love how well Peyton takes coaching, as that was the first thing I noticed from watching him last Friday night along with his bright character. Peyton showed that he could sling it too, as the speed of his quick release was rapid and I thought in the early drills he really focused on the attention to detail with great balance. Peyton was also impressive with his intermediate routes as he impressed me with his ball placement. From what I have seen on tape and heard on Peyton, I love the growth he has continued to make at the quarterback position as a 2026 quarterback prospect that I believe has outstanding upside yet to grow.
