I covered a number of Gar-Field games last fall and while their season ended in disappointment their future is very bright. They return numerous starters but freshman linebacker Erik Nelson Erik Nelson 5’10” | 185 lbs | LB VA may have the biggest upside of all them. 6’0, 200 lbs. Nelson was selected 2nd team all-patriot district in his first year running the Red Wolves defense. This dude has closing speed that reminds me of major college linebackers and he is only 15. The sky is the limit for his potential, his coverage skills are strong too, he can cover a lot of ground.

Woodgrove quarterback Oliver Noll Oliver Noll 6’1″ | 165 lbs | QB Woodgrove | 2027 VA is poised to take over under center for the Wolverines next fall. On tape it looks like already he can make every throw and has a firm grasp on Woodgrove’s offensive playbook. A true team player Noll played freshman, jv and varsity this past season and is willing to do anything to help his team win. He is 6’1 and 165 lbs. moving very well in the pocket with an accurate deep ball, Noll is poised to climb up our 2027 rankings very soon.

Highlights
Louis Kenbeng
Louis Kenbeng
The Patriot Pioneers have a lot of talent coming back next year and should be a big time district title contender. Another young piece who should come in and contribute is athlete Louis Kenbeng. The rising sophomore is already 6’0, 170 lbs. makes plays at receiver and defensive back. He is a good route runner and has the speed to be able to hang with some of the best receivers in Virginia. A year of development as he has been working rigorously, expect to see him have a role for Coach Finnerty in 2024.
Dino Galliano
Dino Galliano
I may sound like a broken record at this point but I do not care. Gainesville has a mess of talent and Dina Galiano is another one keep an eye on. Coming back from injury Galiano already gained varsity experience this past year at receiver. One of the fastest kids I have seen on tape recently, he should be a nice secondary option for the Cardinals. He has good hands and knows how to find a hole in the defense, I will be curious to see what he tests in the 40 as this dude can flat out fly!

Episcopal Darien Coates looks like he already belongs and can play major college already, very impressed with his tape. A big physical receiver who can create separation and yards after the catch, Coates will make the leap the next fall. He is 6’3 and 180 lbs. already, I can see why now they use him at outside linebacker too, he is a physical force. The young man has a bright future on either side of the ball, but I favor him at linebacker for the next level, he gets after it.
