Continue ReadingPiavis finished 4th in the state and 2nd in his class with 16 sacks. Owen had a presence in opponents back field, he finished the season with 33 TFL’s and 103 total tackles. He’s a hard-hitting backer with a high motor, he’s relentless in pursuit and makes plays sideline to sideline. At 6’1 210 he has good size and skill for a outside backer or stand-up edge rusher at the next level. Owen was named Bayside DPOY and 2-time all-county edge rusher.
Barnes finished 2nd in the 3A/4A conference with 9 sacks and recorded 23 TFL’s to go with them. He’s explosive off the ball and almost catapults himself into the back field on a few plays. His aggression and strength set him apart and is a great base for him going into his senior year. This past season he was named to the 3A/4A All-Region Team, with a solid performance worth of All-State don’t be surprised if you see Barnes committing next off season. Include Barnes on the list for a potential breakout season in 2024.
Collins is emerging as one of the top edge prospects in the public-school leagues. He led the class of 2025 with 20 sacks while also recording 50 tackles and 24 TFL’s. Collins is an impressive athlete at edge, he has good size at 6’2 205lbs, and plenty of athleticism, playing tight end and receiver on offense and forward for the basketball team in the offseason. Collins is getting some attention from a few programs such as University of Delaware, JMU, and UNH to name a few. If Collins can put together a senior season like his junior performance, programs will be fighting to get him at their school, he’s a promising prospect.
Powell was an absolute stud for Huntingtown this past season playing all over the defensive front and making highlight plays at every position. He’s everything you want in a prototype edge rusher and even resembles some of the great edge rushers to come through the Maryland ranks over the years. He has great size, already at 6’4 240lbs and is dominant stopping the run, he had 78 tackles and 17 TFL’s to finish the season. Powell comes in 5th in sacks for the class of 2025 with 10 total sacks.
Pringle is one of the few linebackers to finish in the top 10 in the sack category for the class of 2025. He had 7 sacks this season and is aggressive in pursuit. He closes on ball fast and is explosive on contact. Pringle is a versatile athlete; he plays running back on offense and absolutely fly’s around on defense. I’d keep an eye on Pringle this season he has the attributes to make a good nickel DB, or outside linebacker.
