At 6’1” 190 lbs. McDaniel is a gifted natural passer. He’s a savvy athlete with an accelerated release allowing him to get the ball quickly. He’s got great touch and trajectory on deep routes but can zip a one ball into a tight window at the short and intermediate level. Doesn’t lose accuracy or velocity when making off platform throws. Shows smooth and efficient footwork in the pocket and on the run, he’s quick to get into his drop and limits wasted motion. Really like his ability to deliver the ball under pressure and with a defender in his face. Threw for almost 3,000 yards and 33 touchdowns as a junior with only four interceptions. Recruitment has really taken off since the start of the new year with his first five P5 offers coming in since then.
16 Offers: Appalachian State, Arkansas State, Cal, Coastal Carolina, Colorado State, Georgia Southern, Indiana, Liberty, Oregon State, SDSU, San Jose State, Temple, Toledo, Utah State, Virginia, Washington State
Nash is a two-way standout with a versatile skillset to be playmaker at both RB and LB. At 5’11” 200 lbs. he’s got a well-built and compact frame that gives him good strength and power at the POA. He runs hard downhill making one quick cut to make the first defender miss and then gets square to the LOS. He’s a tough tackle once he gets to the second level or into space given his high-level contact balance and power to run through tacklers. He’s got a low center of gravity carrying the ball with good leverage and pad level. Like the short area burst he flashes on both sides of the ball, he can accelerate out of his cuts as a ball carrier and close space in a hurry at LB. Picked up three offers during his junior season from Campbell, Portland State, and UNLV. He should see more recruiting attention this offseason and is recruitable at both positions.
3 Offers: Campbell, Portland State, UNLV
Gomez is coming off a huge junior season that saw him throw for almost 3,000 yards and 30 touchdowns on his way to being voted league Offensive Player of the Year. At 6’1” 200 lbs. he’s got a natural throwing motion with a fluid delivery and full extension to get added velocity and depth. Technical with his footwork and pocket mechanics, he’s got good ball placement and is accurate always keeping his feet underneath his body and throwing off a well-balanced platform. He shows the ability to go through his reads and process information quickly making smart decisions with the football, evident by only throwing 4 interceptions on 270 attempts. He anticipates his receivers coming open to be on time and hitting them in stride allowing them to run after the catch. Committed to hometown Fresno State in late January over offers from Toledo and San Diego State.
3 Offers: Fresno State, San Diego State, Toledo
At 5’9” 200 lbs. DePerno possesses a good combination of strength and speed as a ball carrier. He shows good vision and spatial awareness to know where defenders are and attack open running lanes to get to space. Makes quick and sudden lateral cuts to make the first guy miss at the LOS and then can use his speed to weave through second level defenders. Like his ability to run through contact and maintain forward momentum with good leverage and leg drive. Able to pick up good yardage between the tackles and to the perimeter. Earned All CIF and All League selections after almost 1,300 scrimmage yards and 22 touchdowns as a junior. He’s a high ceiling prospect that holds an offer from UNLV and has the potential to add more. Also was a top performer at the PRZ Collegiate Showcase in January.
