In this article, we are going to highlight several prospects that are going to open plenty of eyes this upcoming season. The 2025 class does not disappoint with the amount of talent that are locking down the cornerback and safety positions.
Decari Prater Decari Prater 6'3" | 180 lbs | DB Prescott | 2025 State AR -Safety-Prescott-6’3” 170-Pounds
Prater has impressive versatility and can shift from playing the safety to cornerback spots. He does not hesitate to separate the ball from the ball carrier. Prater does not mind playing near the line of scrimmage and can be used to fill the rushing lanes to shut down the run. He has the speed to drop back into coverage and does a great job of playing the ball while it is in the air. The Prescott coaching staff does a great job of lining him up all over the field and making great use of his athleticism. Prater is a prospect to watch out for this upcoming season.

DJ Franklin DJ Franklin 6'3" | 180 lbs | DB Little Rock Southwest | 2025 State AR has the talent to line up at any position on the defensive side of the ball for the Gryphons. Franklin is a playmaker in the secondary. He is a safety that is always around the football and does a great job of making plays on the ball. Franklin does a good job of separating the ball from the wide receiver. He is a prospect to watch out for over the next few months. Franklin has the potential to have a big season for Little Rock Southwest.

Dawson Birmingham Dawson Birmingham 5'9" | 170 lbs | DB Fayetteville | 2025 State AR does a great job of forcing the wide receiver to work for the reception. He has no problem playing the wide receiver aggressively. Birmingham can pick off passes and take them the opposite direction quickly. He plays the ball well in the air and is a playmaker in the secondary. Birmingham is a prospect to watch out for in the Fayetteville secondary this upcoming season.

One prospect that has been opening eyes over the past few months is Curtis Barrow Jr. Curtis Barrow Jr. 5'7" | 150 lbs | DB Monticello | 2025 State AR He had a strong camp at the Prep Redzone Arkansas Stock Up Showcase. Barrow Jr. uses his speed well to cause incompletions. Barrow Jr. has the ability to beat the wide receiver to the ball. Over the next few months, Barrow Jr. is a prospect to watch out for with Monticello. He has approached the season in strong fashion, and I expect a big 2024 season from him.

Josiah Rainey Josiah Rainey 6'0" | 155 lbs | DB Sylvan Hills | 2025 State AR is a prospect in the secondary that does an excellent job of reading and reacting to the play. He reads the opposing quarterback’s eyes extremely well. Rainey can bait the opposing quarterback into making careless passes. Rainey has the quickness and ability to lock down one side of the field for Sylvan Hills. He is a prospect to watch out for throughout the offseason.
