Isaac Acosta, Boys Ranch: Acosta threw for 1,355 yards and 11 TD for the Class 2A program in 2023. His favorite receiver was just a sophomore last season, so Boys Ranch could be set up for an explosive offense in 2024.

, Odessa Permian: Cruz doesn’t have the biggest stats of all the freshmen standouts in West Texas, but he might have the biggest upside from a recruiting standpoint. He started 12 games for one of the elite programs in Region 1 and made 32 tackles with 14 passes defended. He didn’t allow a reception against him in two playoff games. One to watch. Power 5 potential.
Keymd Faciane, Wink: Faciane was the leading freshmen rusher in Region I with 1,719 yards and 17 TD on 173 carries. He averaged close to 10 yards per carry.
Eduardo Jacquez, Canadian: The Wildcats had a very explosive offense in 2023 but the defense was pretty good as well, and Jacquez helped lead the way with 108 tackles, 20 TFL, 4.0 sacks and 6 QB hurries from his DL spot. Incredible season for one of the top young defensive players in West Texas.
Chase Lantelme, Stratford: Lantelme played quarterback and defensive back for Stratford, finishing his freshman season with 508 yards and 7 TD passing, and 61 tackles with 4 INT on defense.
Daniel Reyes, Iraan: Reyes played on both sides of the ball for the Braves, contributing 44 tackles on defense from his LB spot.
Carlos Rojas, El Paso Riverside: Rojas was a threat on both sides of the ball for Riverside. He caught 43 passes for 930 yards while averaging 16.5 yards per rushing attempt. Defensively, he made 33 tackles. A promising player who is only going to get better.
Slade Russell, West Plains: Russell is a 6-foot-1, 180-pounder who played on both sides of the ball for the Wolves, who enjoyed a very successful season. Russell rushed for 238 yards and 4 TD on 31 carries and made 25 tackles on defense. He’ll continue to do special things for West Plains.
Cooper Schilling, Perryton: Already 6-feet tall, Schilling threw for over 1,500 yards and 17 TD as a freshman in 2023. He completed 62.9 percent of his passes, showing he’s already an accurate passer. When he grows a few more inches and further develops his skills, he should be a next level QB prospect.
Josue Sigala, Muleshoe: One of the top young two-players in West Texas. He rushed for 1,127 yards and 22 TD on offense while making 76 tackles with 5 interceptions on defense.
