With every rankings update I go through the Watch List to see who has new film to scout so that we can move players into the rankings. There are a lot of players who will move up during the update, and among them are several OL who have posted tape that will force us to rearrange the OL group. Today, we take a look at the tape to see what has us so excited.
Tadd is an athlete who is well on the rise. He is now up to an impressive 6’5″ 250 lbs. The junior looked the part and played the part this past fall. St. Croix Central has him playing guard, and it has allowed Posey to play to his strengths. Tadd is an athletic OL who shows next level range as he pulls and leads across the formation or up to the second level. Posey has solid flexibility and balance for a kid his size. Despite that, he is able to get low and use leverage and leg drive to dig IDL out of the trenches. Posey is just scratching the surface on what he could develop into. Get him on your boards now. Check out the film below.
Ryan is another ’25 OG who is going to move into the rankings during our upcoming update. He is a strong, stout lineman. His offense uses him on a lot of pulls to trap IDL or DEs. Ryan is able to get plenty of movement when he makes contact to open up plenty of space to run through. I think Ryan could make a big jump this fall and be a breakout player. Below is a look his tape.
One of my favorite performances from the 2023 season was the Badger OL in the State Championship. A key piece of that OL is Richard Skipper who returns in 2024. Richard is massive at 6’3″ 310 lbs, and plays with the nasty demeanor, heavy hands, and leg drive to dominate in the trenches overall; especially the run game. Skipper shows good knee bend to be able to get underneath DL and drive them off the ball. The big man overpowers with his strength. We see him dominate with double teams, and can peel off to pick up an LB. This is an IOL to know going forward.
Highlights
David is an athlete I watched early in the season and came away impressed by him. He is a two way lineman who stood out at both positions. Looking at his OL highlights, it is clear that David has a lot of potential. He has so much room left to fill on his frame. The blend of athleticism and power stands out from a lot of kids at this level. He can walk DL off the ball or attack level two and land a block out in space. His natural tools will catch the attention of next level coaches.
Quinn is an athlete to follow. He is starting to grow into his 6’4″ frame. He is now carrying 225 lbs and has the room to carry the weight needed for the next level. I’ll be interested to see how he measures in once the season starts. Right now, the tape is what you would expect. A long framed lineman with easy range. Even if he doesn’t add more size, Quinn has a great build for the other position he plays, LB. At LB, Quinn is able to take on and shed blocks. Quinn is a well built athlete with potential to fill multiple spots. His film is below.
