Wake was an underrated playmaker for one of the most productive passing attacks in Nevada this season, totaling 40 catches for nearly 600 yards and 8 TDs. He’s a lengthy perimeter target at 6’2″/180 that works the sidelines well and is slick with the ball in hands after the catch, particularly in the screen game. He shows IQ as a route-runner in his ability to create separation and find space attacking multiple levels of the defense. Wake just picked up his first offer from D-III George Fox in December.
Rodriguez had a productive season in the secondary for Durango, totaling 48 tackles, 2 INTs, and 7 PBUs as a senior. He excels in his nickel/SS role where he can react downhill to the flat and cover space between the hash and sideline. He takes precise, efficient angles in pursuit and is a willing and committed tackler in space. Rodriguez’s recruiting traction has picked up as of late, adding offers from Concordia-Ann Arbor and McPherson College in the past few weeks.
Ahern operated as the top receiving target for Centennial’s offense for the second consecutive season, recording 34 catches for 600 yards and 6 TDs as a senior. He’s a nimble playmaker that works the middle of the field well out of the slot, can attack multiple levels of the defense, and is a dangerous player in space after the catch. He shows commitment and physicality as a blocker and can impact the game as a return specialist. Ahern should be on the radar for D-III programs looking for unsigned playmakers out of Nevada.
Hunter was one of the top producers for SLAM’s defense this season, totaling 50 tackles and 7 INTs from his CB spot. He’s a fluid defender in coverage that can change gears when mirroring patterns and turn-and-run with WRs downfield. He shows instincts and quickness coming out of his zone responsibility to make plays on the ball and finishes turnovers with plus-side ball skills. He’s a strong tackler in the flat that attacks ball-carriers downhill and shows straight-line speed when closing space. Hunter’s size (5’7”/140) might limit his potential suitors but his natural skillset and athleticism are definitely worth a look for programs looking to add to their secondary.
Highlights
Kenzevich produced a breakout senior season for Foothill, recording 37 tackles and 6 INTs. He’s a versatile coverage defender that served as a deep safety and perimeter CB this season. He’s smooth and under control when gaining depth, opens his body with loose hips, and capitalizes on turnover opportunities with notable ball skills. He’s a highly active tackler that’s precise and efficient with his angles of pursuit and makes tackles in every area of the field with pure effort. Kenzevich checks in as a top-10 DB in Prep Redzone’s latest 2024 NV rankings.
