Athletes, coaches, and parents can click on the “How We Rank” story under the “Rankings” menu to learn more about the process of ranking players.
For me personally, I would like to add that the following factors also determine how I rank players. Stats help, but don’t make the rankings, but if I can’t find stats on a player that factors into their position as well. Offers from colleges are also taken into consideration. An athlete with multiple Division I offers is going to probably be ranked higher than a player with only NAIA offers or no offers at all. I do watch film and that can help or hurt a player’s rankings. Also size and speed matter!
A couple of key issues I always stress with athletes is the slot you are ranked in is not nearly as important as just making the rankings. There will be plenty of opportunities for members of this class to get on our scouts’ radars this spring, summer, and fall.
While I strive for perfection, I also understand that mistakes and typos happen. If you have questions about the rankings or see a mistake please feel free to DM me on social media @KSScoutDeck or email me at deckscoutks@gmail.com. Remember you attract more bees with honey than you do vinegar. If you send me a negative or rude email do not expect a reply. Also, keep in mind that there are elements of the technology that I cannot control or change, one example is our options for a player’s weight in five lb. intervals. Also, we do not update rankings on a week-to-week basis. Once an athlete is ranked in a spot, they stay there until the next round of rankings. We try to update the rankings three to four times a year.
Here is a look at the Top 10 Ranked athletes which includes two tight ends at the top and three offensive and defensive linemen being recruited by Division I programs.
DaSaahn Brame DaSaahn Brame 6'6" | 230 lbs | TE Derby | 2025 State KS , TE, 6’6”, 230, Derby
Brame is a Power 5 Conference prospect and is now the No. 1 ranked player in the Kansas Class of 2025. The Derby Panther tight end is fast, physical, and long. He has sweet hands and is a big target in the passing game. In 13 games Brame finished with 46 receptions for 942 yards and caught 13 touchdowns. He has narrowed his recruitment to eight DI programs including five SEC programs, two Big 10 schools, and Kansas State University. As much as I like to see Kansas athletes get the opportunity to leave the state, Brame is one prospect that I hope chooses to stay in Kansas.
Linkon Cure Linkon Cure 6'6" | 210 lbs | TE Goodland | 2025 State KS , TE, 6’6”, 210, Goodland
If college coaches miss out on Brame, then there is another 6-foot-6 tight end from Goodland to pick up. Cure jumped up nine spots in the rankings from No. 11 to No. 2. He finished his junior season with 42 receptions and 946 yards gained in nine games. He found the end zone 14 times. He is a powerhouse athlete who also excels on the hardwood. Another stud defensive lineman in the top ten is De Soto’s Woleben. The Wildcat junior is going to be a solid interior lineman and will be able to stuff the run as well as pressure the quarterback. During his junior season, he recorded 42 total tackles, four TFLs, and two quarterback sacks. He has been linked to several DI programs including Missouri, Kansas, Iowa State, Minnesota, and Notre Dame.
Brock Heath Brock Heath 6'5" | 250 lbs | OL Blue Valley Northwest | 2025 State KS , OL, 6’5”, 250, Blue Valley Northwest
The No. 2 ranked offensive lineman in the Class of 2025 is the Huskies’ Heath. Heath could see a position change when he heads off to college. He can play tackle, defensive end, or become a tight end. He has great size and will only get bigger and stronger. He has offers from both the Jayhawks and Wildcats.
Maguire Richman Maguire Richman 6'2" | 200 lbs | LB Blue Valley | 2025 State KS , LB, 6’2”, 200, Blue Valley

He has quality size and has solid measurables in the weight room with a 345 lb. bench and a 500 lb. squat. He has offers from Kansas University and Washburn. He will have other athletes chomping on his heels to pass over him in the Top 10.
