Rundquist had a huge year for Nampa Christian finishing his sophomore season as the top sophomore tackler in the state. Rundquist finished the season with 88 total tackles and was able to do it in a variety of ways. Whether it was stopping run plays in the box, running them down on the edges or making a tackle for loss; Rundquist was everywhere on the field this season. A player with a very high football IQ, he is always in the right place at the right time. He may not be the biggest player in stature but he is one of the top returning players at his position for a reason and we are excited to see how he progresses.
Mitchell is a real bright spot for Meridian where the sophomore came on later in the season and made an impact right away. A player with a rare combination of size and skill, he was able to make impact play after impact play. Just go back and watch some of Meridians playoff games this season and you will see what we are talking about with his ability to be an in the box run stuffer but fluid and fast enough not cover. He is one of the best young inside the box defenders we have seen and is going to really have a big time career for the Warriors.
Fledderman was another sophomore who really stuffed the stat sheet this season as he was able to finish the year with 82 tackles. A true mike linebacker that can play down hill on the run and shed blocks with strong strikes. Fledderman is able to really be that imposing presence in the middle of the defense. He plays with really good pad level and the ability to be explosive in his lower half. As he grows his coverage ability will only get better and he could really round out his game while having a dominant career.
Highlights
Summers does a little bit of everything from his linebacker position. Finishing the season with 69 tackles he was also able to impact the game from a rush standpoint. He is player who can really time up his blitz and get to the quarterback. He runs really well and has an excellent feel for when to shoot gaps or when to take on a block while holding his ground. A player that has some ability in the pass game as well and should only get better as time progresses. He is a prospect to keep an eye on and will be a watch list player for us before getting ranked when its all said and done.
