High School Blitz will present a junior showcase this coming Sunday afternoon at Brookland-Cayce High School. Kickoff is slated for noon. The game will feature 88 of the elite junior players in the state. Prep RedZone South Carolina will give you a dozen players from each team to keep an eye on.
The teams are split into East and West Teams. Here is a look at the East squad.
Jaden Cummings Jaden Cummings 5'11" | 195 lbs | QB Summerville | 2025 State SC QB, Summerville
Cummings (pictured) had a monster season with the Green Wave. He threw for 3,333 yards and 36 touchdowns to go along with 250 yards rushing and four scores. He completed 70 percent of his passes. Most of his receivers have graduated so this will be a good opportunity to play with a new set of guys and show his abilities.
Tre Leonard Tre Leonard 5'9" | 180 lbs | RB West Florence | 2025 State SC RB, West Florence
Leonard started slowly after transferring to West Florence but ended the season with 597 yards and four touchdowns. He should use that as a lead-in to a strong senior season. Leonard is 5-foot-10, 165 pounds and shows a burst once into the open field.
Kayden Bash Kayden Bash 5'11" | 150 lbs | WR Berkeley | 2025 State SC WR, Berkeley
The Stags had a revamped offense behind freshman QB Henry Rivers Henry Rivers 5'11" | 160 lbs | QB Berkeley | 2027 State SC and Bash was one of the main reasons. The 5-foot-11, 150-pound speedster had 45 receptions for 756 yards and five touchdowns while playing in 11 games.
Jeremie Richardson Jeremie Richardson 5'11" | 175 lbs | WR Crestwood | 2025 State SC WR, Crestwood
Richardson had over 1,100 yards of total yards but the bulk of that was on the receiving end. The 5-foot-11, 175-pounder had 49 receptions for 946 yards and six touchdowns for the 11-2 Knights.
Krew Morris Krew Morris 5'11" | 185 lbs | WR Gilbert | 2025 State SC ATH, Gilbert
Morris is another versatile athlete that can do a lot of different things. He finished with 822 yards receiving on 53 receptions and he added 286 yards rushing on 44 attempts. He had over 500 yards after the catch. He scored 11 touchdowns.
Mandrell Sanders Mandrell Sanders 5'11" | 190 lbs | LB Hampton County | 2025 State SC LB, Hampton County
Sanders was just shy of 100 tackles on the season with 95 stops. He added 27.5 tackles for loss, seven sacks and 21 hurries. He plays on the outside and has the ability to use his speed against larger offensive linemen. He also plays well sideline-to-sideline.
Damarion Coe DB, Hartsville
Coe is a 5-foot-9, 170-pound strong safety that also excels in special teams. He finished with over 60 tackles, two interceptions, two passes defended and one touchdown. His speed is what sets him apart. His closing speed in the open field is elite.
Justin Purvis Justin Purvis 5'8" | 175 lbs | ATH Marlboro County | 2025 State SC ATH, Marlboro County
Purvis did a little bit of everything for the Bulldogs. He finished his season with 45 receptions for 615 yards and four touchdowns, 323 kick return yards and one score, 77 punt return yards and another score and added an interception on defense. He has big-play ability anytime he touches the ball.
Antohn Ford OL, Brookland-Cayce
Ford is a 6-foot-4, 290-pounder than has a nasty streak on the offensive line. He also played defense but seems to have a future on the offensive side. He’s played guard and center and usually wins at the point of attack.
Christian Smith Christian Smith 6'4" | 285 lbs | OL Lugoff-Elgin | 2025 State SC OL, Lugoff-Elgin
Smith is a 6-foot-4, 255-pound tackle that moves well for his size. He plays physically at the line of scrimmage but can also attack defenders in space.
DJ Gause DJ Gause 6'1" | 220 lbs | DL North Myrtle Beach | 2025 State SC DL, North Myrtle Beach
Gause might be undersized as a typical defensive lineman at 6-foot-1, 220 pounds but he’s extremely physical. He squats 615 pounds and uses that low center of gravity to make plays. He finished last season with 45 tackles, 10 tackles for loss, seven sacks and one fumble recovery.
Grady Dangerfield P/K, James Island
Dangerfield has a big leg and finished with 64 touchbacks on 78 kickoffs last season. He added four field goals with a long of 44 yards. He’s 6-foot-1, 200 pounds so has the ability to get bigger and stronger.
