Here is a look at some of the top tacklers in the class of 2025
Hood was one of the top tackling juniors in the state at the outside linebacker position where he was able to rack up 114 total tackles on the season. With his ability to really run he is able to make plays all over the field and make sure that his opponents go down. He has a high football IQ that allows him to read and react quickly along with being able to shed blockers with efficiency. He plays with a high motor that allows him to run plays down all over the field and should be setup for a big season as a senior.
Highlights
Cady had a monster season for the state runner ups with his ability to really impact the game not only as a tackler but in coverage. A rare type of outside linebacker with defensive back skills Cady is able to match up against slot receivers and really make an impact. He has a nose for the football and seems to always be in the right place at the right time. He has really good short area quickness that allows him to beat offensive lineman to their spot and dip underneath blocks. He finished the season with 111 total tackles and is going to be a big time leader for the Vikings next season.
Highlights
Sarich plays with a chip on his shoulder and you can tell with his ability to deliver bone crushing hits at anytime. He plays with reckless abandon and is willing to put his body on the line to make a play. He shows really good downhill burst and the ability to strike with his hands quickly to create separation from offensive lineman. A force to be reckoned with finishing his junior season with 109 total tackles. He is a watch list player for sure and will be someone we keep a close eye on as his offseason progresses.
McDaniel might play at a small school but he plays like he suits up on Saturdays where you can just see his passion come out on the field. Smaller in stature but plays with a big heart, high IQ and a relentless motor, McDaniel is able to impact the game in a variety of different ways. He can be a run stuffer and then drop in to pass coverage with his quickness and speed. He has fluidity to his game and finished the season with 106 total tackles.
Leonard had a big time year on his way to 103 total tackles, with his ability to really be an inside the box player. A true mike linebacker that made a statement with his pads on every hit, Leonard was able to really put the fear into running backs in between the tackles. A strong lower half that really has some pop his was as sure of a tackler as you have seen all season. He is a name to be on watch for and will be a player that we really study this offseason.
