Hood has been at the top of the leaderboard for what seems like the entire season. A stout linebacker who is able to run tackle to tackle to make plays for his team. A strong strike that allows him to shed blocks quickly and get to the ball carrier. His ability to see the blocking scheme and fit quickly is what makes him so effective. Hood leads the state with 121 total tackles this season and should end up with north of 160 this season.

He is always in the right spot and is able to get running backs on the ground quickly. He is also very good when he blitzes and is able to time up snap counts and make backs miss in pass pro.

Hood is one of the top linebackers in the state, and has been one of the more productive defensive players across Idaho for the past two seasons. He checks in as a top 20 linebacker in our rankings, and just inside the top 100 overall players across Idaho. He is always around the ball, tackles well in space and has a violent play-style at the POA. In his first game, Hood had 19 tackles and 2 TFL’s, while showing good fluidity and trigger abilities in space.

Hood is a downhill thumper that excels tackle to tackle, and is a strong tackler in the box that plays with a low hat and flows well to the ball over the top. He shows the ability to quickly diagnose plays and triggers without taking false steps while able to take down bigger ball carriers and does a nice job at weaving around traffic when filling gaps. He has had a tremendous three year career so far and will be one of the top tacklers in the state as we had into the 2024 season. Although a bit undersized he plays with good physicality and wins with leverage, IQ and quickly diagnosing plays.
