Leonard is one of the toughest linebackers in the state with his ability to deliver devastating hits. A player who runs really well for his size and has the ability to be a three down linebacker. He shows a quick first step along with really good recognition skills. He triggers quickly and is unique in the fact that it always seems like he is creating the contact rather than absorbing it. He plays with a high motor and shows the ability to cover where improvement this season is really going to separate him from many other players in his class.

Leonard is one of the more active and physical linebackers across Idaho in this 2025 class, and went over the 100 tackle marker in 2023 and is poised for a monster senior season where he should draw plenty of next level interest at the D3+ level.
On tape, he is a downhill plug that fills quickly, can weave through traffic to find ball carriers and is a very sure tackler in the box that explodes through contact and operates near the ball with a low-hat and fluid lateral movement abilities/COD when flowing to the ball. He shows he can knife into the backfield, apply pressure from the edge and diagnosis plays quickly before closing, and is a no brainer next level kid at the D3+ level.

Leonard is coming off a very impressive Junior season for Lake City, and checks into our rankings as a top 5 linebacker and overall a top 20 kid in his class across the state. He is a true mike backer at the next level that does a very nice job at scraping and closing, fills hard and explodes through contact while showing closing speed and good toughness. He also flashes some cover abilities in the flats, can sniff out plays quickly and takes good angles in the open field. He is a high motor and violent player that should be a no brainer at the D-II+ level.

Leonard had a big time year on his way to 103 total tackles, with his ability to really be an inside the box player. A true mike linebacker that made a statement with his pads on every hit, Leonard was able to really put the fear into running backs in between the tackles. A strong lower half that really has some pop his was as sure of a tackler as you have seen all season. He is a name to be on watch for and will be a player that we really study this offseason.
