Continue ReadingOregon is not typically recognized for producing many Division 1 football players. In comparison to other states, the state has even fewer linemen. However, there are some talented upcoming seniors in the Pacific Northwest who are breaking the norm and proving that they can play at the highest level. In this article, my goal is to bring attention to these players who have the potential to appear on your television on future Saturdays.
Lusiano is a kid that should get a shot to play high-level college football. The size is nothing to write home about, but he makes up for that with all of the other parts of his game. He checks just about every box for a defensive lineman besides size and strength. The short area quickness is impressive; the violent hands are there; he wins the line of scrimmage, is dominant at the point of attack, and has great form for a high schooler. If Lusiano can gain some good weight while retaining his athleticism, he will be one of the best players in Oregon.
Kainoa was a massive part of Central Catholic’s state championship team, starting at DT for them. He is a good player who does dominate at the high school level, as he bullies linemen who are not physically on the same level. The production was also there for Kainoa; he made plenty of big plays from the DT position, which is impressive. He is already in contact with several D1 schools and must improve this offseason. College coaches will want to see better form and more violence at the point of attack before they send a precious offer his way. I am excited to see how Kainoa looks during his senior season.
Enrike is an interesting player who should get a shot at the D1 level. Enrike played a RUSH end role for North Salem last season and is more comfortable out of a two-point stance. He is a decent size for an EDGE rusher and shows good power and finesse. He has the power to bull rush and the agility to make offensive tackles miss at the high school level; the problem is I wonder if he has enough power or agility to win at the next level, which is fine. Enrike will need to add more power and finesse to his game, as he is a bit stiff for an EDGE rusher. The production and the dominance at the high school level should land him an offer. With a whole offseason before his senior season, he should be even better!

Trey is someone that we have had our eyes on for a while. He was a part of a very talented North Medford team, and he dominated for them. Trey has the size coaches will be comfortable recruiting when looking for a legitimate interior defensive lineman. He also possesses the nastiness required to play on the interior. With Trey’s big and strong, you would not think he could move as well as he does, but he showed flashes of great finesse moves when rushing the passer. The speed-to-power rushes are impressive for a young kid. Trey will benefit from the camp circuit this year, and I am excited to watch him next week at the Stock Up Showcase!
