At the same time, there are still a ton of linebackers I think are working their way into prime position to absolutely blow up this year. Between all the offseason workouts and camps, to their role on their respective teams, I think these guys are ready to make everyone take notice!
Carter Bell Carter Bell 5'10" | 185 lbs | LB Gobles | 2025 MI , Gobles- I’ve mentioned before that this is a diamond in the rough for a school willing to take a chance on him. I think someone is going to after Carter has another great year! He’s a block shedding master, who reads the offense well and gets to his spot. He is really good at fighting off multiple blocks and making sure to keep his eye on the ball carrier. I’m a huge fan of his, and his coaches say he is a workhorse who wants to get better. I would suggest any NAIA or D3 school doing some homework on Carter and they may just be surprised, as 8 Player is just underrecruited.
Ike Stufft Ike Stufft 6'2" | 210 lbs | LB Milford | 2025 State MI , Milford- I really became a fan of Ike after checking out his film last season, and I wanted to see a few improvements. Looks like that is exactly what he is doing as it appears his production took a jump! For his senior year I’m looking for him to completely explode this year. He has all the physical traits you want to see out of a LB, and has really done a nice job of developing into a well rounded backer who can do a little bit of everything. The staff at Milford does a nice job of developing their guys, especially defensively. Looks like we have another rising star off that defense!
Hunter Conrad Hunter Conrad 5'9" | 230 lbs | LB Belding | 2025 State MI , Belding- If Hunter isn’t already on your radar, let this be the time you finally check him out! Not only does he get it done on the field, but he’s a true leader as well. Getting him into a building would absolutely be a great thing for any culture. On the field, he is a menacing downhill hitter who delivers some powerful shots. I haven’t seen him in a TON of pass drops, and he tends to be more downhill than lateral, so hopefully that is his next point of emphasis. If you’ve read my articles before, you know I tend to rave about Hunter, and I will stand by it!
Vegas Seay Vegas Seay 5'10" | 185 lbs | LB Brother Rice | 2025 State MI , Brother Rice- The past couple of seasons I was really only thinking of Vegas as a running back as that was what he worked out at during the offseason camps. This last season he turned into a really solid linebacker, and I am expecting him to take a big step now that he has a full season under his belt, along with this offseason. He does a nice job of slipping blocks and getting to his spot. As he gets more reps, it will continue to get more natural for him and I would not be shocked if he ends up as a solid D2 linebacker. He has some work to do to get there, but his stock is definitely on the rise.
De’Amor Andrews De’Amor Andrews 5'10" | 220 lbs | LB Lansing Sexton | 2025 State MI , Lansing Sexton- Sexton had a pretty darn solid year in 2023, and out of that emerged a few guys that got on my radar. Andrews is primarily the guy I am really curious about. He’s a work hard guy who seems to be improving a lot. He loves the big hit and to blow plays up from the start. He has some room to improve athletically, but he shows really solid instincts and an ability to read a play and get where he needs to be. He shows up big time in passing situations as he does a really nice job in coverage. As long as he keeps his head down and keeps working, he could really surprise some people this fall.
