2024 Rankings Update: Upstate New Additions

The Upstate has seen a huge chunk of talent in recent years.   Yet, until now, we've missed on 17 of them. These players have been added to the Prep RedZone Class of 2024 rankings. All of them have proved they're right where they're supposed to be.   From the high-producing offensive weapons to the defensive standouts who pushed their teams to success, here's how each of the 17 impressed us throughout the 2023 season.   [player_tooltip player_id='396487' first='Micah' last='McGowan'] DL, Southside Christian - McGowan contributed 46 total tackles, four sacks, four fumble recoveries and three forced fumbles for his squad this fall.   [player_tooltip player_id='1142817' first='Omar' last='Williams'] LB, Westside - His 80 total tackles were tops among any of the Rams' state-championship defense.    [player_tooltip player_id='1144087' first='Ty' last='Plumblee'] LB, Daniel - Between his 65.5 total tackles, 6.5 tackles for loss and a role in three turnovers, Plumblee thrived in the Lions' defensive scheme.   [player_tooltip player_id='1142742' first='Marco' last='Evans'] RB, Westside - One of Westside's two 1,000-yard rushers this fall also reached the end zone 17 times.    [player_tooltip player_id='1142728' first='Carmello' last='Canty'] ATH, Greenville - He caught 19 passes and stepped in to help out on defense while also battling a mid-season injury.   [player_tooltip player_id='1144052' first='Johnny' last='Jaraczewski'] LB, St. Joseph's - Whether it was his 77.5 total tackles or his 12 tackles for loss, Jaraczewski found ways to be highly influential.    [player_tooltip player_id='1142680' first='Rashawn' last='Cunningham'] WR, Chapman - The Panthers' top target caught more than twice as many passes as the next Chapman receiver.    [player_tooltip player_id='1142651' first='Caron' last='Foster'] DL, Gaffney - His 23.5 tackles for loss and 7.5 sacks were proof of how much time he spent in opposing offensive backfields.    [player_tooltip player_id='1144034' first='Shaheem' last='Robbs'] RB, Belton-Honea Path - His 1,129 yards rushing and 17 touchdowns were a boon to a BHP squad that ran over most opponents.   [player_tooltip player_id='1144047' first='Chase' last='Gregorek'] OL, TL Hanna - The Furman signee was a two-time all-region selection and picked up a spot in the Touchstone Energy Bowl.   [player_tooltip player_id='1144090' first='Brannon' last='Teamer'] DB, Dorman - The Touchstone Energy Bowl selection was arguably the best player on Dorman's defense all season.   [player_tooltip player_id='1144103' first='James' last='Oates'] LB, Byrnes - Oates was a tackling machine who put up more than 95 total stops in our amended system.    [player_tooltip player_id='1144060' first='Ethan' last='Anderson'] QB, JL Mann - One of the state's few 3,000-yard passers threw 39 touchdowns against just six picks.    [player_tooltip player_id='1142563' first='Luke' last='Gray'] QB, Pendleton - Was realistically just one more game from reaching the 4,000-yard mark this fall for the Bulldogs.    [player_tooltip player_id='1055627' first='Kolton' last='Chapman'] QB, Daniel - The 2,406 yards were nice. The 15-0 record and Class 3A state championship was even better.    [player_tooltip player_id='1142457' first='Mikel' last='McClellan'] WR, JL Mann (pictured) - Electric receiver more than made up for his stature with 1,481 receiving yards and 14 touchdowns.    [player_tooltip player_id='1142430' first='Watson' last='Young'] OL, Daniel - Mr. Football finalist and Clemson signee was a lockdown lineman at multiple positions over his four-year career.
