Moving up in our rankings isn't easy.

We wrapped up final say for the Class of 2024 with 329 ranked players. The talent was vast, and by this point, we've pretty much seen it all.

Yet, 22 players did something so special between our last rankings cycle and the end of the season that we had no choice but to bump them up considerably.

Big-time receivers and big linemen, freakish linebackers and star tailbacks - we had them all. The best way we can recognize their contributions to their programs was to add a bit of extra zest to the their high school legacies. These 22 players made the most headway.

And there was a lot of it.

EDITOR'S NOTE: The number indicated in the parentheses notates how many spots each player moved up from the last rankings cycle in September.

[player_tooltip player_id='267450' first='Braydn' last='Kesselring'] Midland Valley (Up 13 spots)

In 13 games this fall, the Mustangs put up 5,926 yards of offense, an average of 455 yards per game. Roughly 80 percent of that came on the ground, and Kesselring, the team's starting left tackle, was a huge component.

[player_tooltip player_id='448977' first='Seneca' last='Moore'] Crestwood (Up 14 spots)

The senior amended his game some after transferring to Crestwood and recorded 27 tackles for loss, six forced fumbles and 51 solo tackles to go along with 196 rushing yards and six touchdowns.

[player_tooltip player_id='589052' first='Derrick' last='Salley'] Ashley Ridge (Up 18 spots)

Salley wasn't just a physically gifted player. He was in no other terms the focal point of the Ashley Ridge offense. His 2,000 receiving yards finished third nationally and his 26 offensive touchdowns were just shy of half of what the Swamp Foxes produced as a team.

[player_tooltip player_id='771220' first='Christian' last='Zachary'] Calhoun County (Up 19 spots)

The North Carolina State signee and Shrine Bowl of the Carolinas selection finished his high school career with more than 2,500 receiving yards and while averaging just shy of 25 yards per reception.

[player_tooltip player_id='448982' first='Jaquarius' last='Mayrant'] Camden (Up 20 spots)

Mayrant's numbers (1,425 receiving yards, 254 rushing yards, 18 offensive touchdowns) expanded in conjunction with Camden's huge playoff run to the Class 3A state championship. Four of his touchdowns came in the title game loss.

[player_tooltip player_id='745898' first='Landon' last='Stradcutter'] Stratford (Up 20 spots)

The 6-foot-3, 280-pound interior lineman started rolling some momentum during last spring's combine session and carried it right on through his senior season. He primarily played left guard but showed an ability to move around some with his starting position.

[player_tooltip player_id='448983' first='Wilson' last='Nash'] Camden (Up 22 spots)

Nash finished up his high school career with 306 total tackles (261 solo) and 27 tackles for loss. This past season alone, he piled up 158.5 stops, not to mention four fumble recoveries, 14 tackles for loss and four sacks.

[player_tooltip player_id='771063' first='Timir' last='Hickman-Collins'] Indian Land (Up 24 spots)

The Florida State signee was nothing short of spectacular in his two seasons at Indian Land after moving in from North Carolina. He put up more than 100 total tackles as a senior and added seven sacks and and four forced fumbles.

[player_tooltip player_id='267430' first='Jaden' last='Allen-Hendrix'] Irmo (Up 26 spots)

The Oklahoma State commitment and Touchstone Energy Bowl selection put together a season to remember, rushing for 2,215 yards and 25 touchdowns in helping push Irmo to the Class 4A Lower State championship game and 13 overall victories.

[player_tooltip player_id='771066' first='Dylan' last='Barbrey'] Airport (Up 32 spots)

Barbrey enrolled at Appalachian State earlier this week after helping the Eagles win more games in 2023 than they had in the previous two seasons combined and earning a spot in the Touchstone Energy Bowl after switching from left tackle to right.

[player_tooltip player_id='771065' first='Yannick' last='Smith'] Summerville (Up 40 spots)

Smith's impact was seen season long, even when his team was blowing out most of its opponents and he was on the sidelines. All told, he put up 1,933 receiving/rushing yards and totaled 24 touchdowns for the Green Wave before starting to transition for college ball.

[player_tooltip player_id='996935' first='Bryant' last='Ham'] Irmo (Up 47 spots)

The downright destructive Yellow Jackets' offense averaged 465 yards and 49.5 points per game. Ham, an interior lineman, and his buddies up front were a huge reason why. They protected quarterback [player_tooltip player_id='272713' first='AJ' last='Brand'] and paved the way for Allen-Hendrix to pile up all those yards.

[player_tooltip player_id='589051' first='KJ' last='Asbury'] Philip Simmons (Up 53 spots)

The 5-foot-11, 205-pound wrecking ball needed just 12 games to hit the 2,000-yard rushing mark, taking advantage of his 187 carries. By the time the season was over, he was averaging 10.8 yards per carry and had reached the end zone 27 times.

[player_tooltip player_id='996915' first='Dirrick' last='Goodman'] South Florence (Up 56 spots)

Goodman was a major reason the Bruins staved off a complete overhaul of the offense during the midway point of the season, putting up 63 total tackles, six tackles for loss, four interceptions, four forced fumbles and two fumble recoveries.

[player_tooltip player_id='239076' first='Zion' last='Dobson'] Hampton County (Up 59 spots)

The Mr. Football finalist put Hampton County on his back while carrying plenty of would-be opposing tacklers, too. While he was mostly known for his 2,574 rushing yards and 40 rushing touchdowns, he also caught a pair of touchdowns and threw for another.

[player_tooltip player_id='771088' first='Quay'Sheed' last='Scott'] Marion (Up 68 spots)

The four-year varsity starter, Kentucky signee and Shrine Bowl of the Carolinas selection did so much for Marion over his career that he'll be nearly impossible to replace. This past season, he chalked up 23 total touchdowns receiving/rushing and was a considerable presence in the defensive backfield.

[player_tooltip player_id='242787' first='Bruce' last='Knauber'] Greenville (Up 86 spots)

Like his mate up front ([player_tooltip player_id='209617' first='Jayden' last='Wilson-Abrams']), Knauber found himself in the Shrine Bowl after a senior season that including 88 total tackles, 19 tackles for loss, 8.5 sacks, 21 quarterback hurries and four fumble recoveries. At times, he was simply dominant.

[player_tooltip player_id='911089' first='Jaiden' last='Kimble'] White Knoll (Up 96 spots)

Was Kimble part of a truly dynamic defense that was loaded front to back? Absolutely. Was he the best player on the field regardless in most games? Also absolutely. Kimble was the guy that opposing teams game-planned against and had to know where he was every second of every game.

[player_tooltip player_id='139314' first='Josh' last='Williams'] Westside (Up 111 spots)

Williams put up more than 2,500 career receiving yards and 31 receiving touchdowns. Of course, that included his 92 yards and a fourth-quarter touchdowns reception in the Class 4A state championship game. His soon-to-be ring will be something he'll cherish forever.

[player_tooltip player_id='771219' first='Elijah' last='Williams'] Irmo (Up 130 spots)

While much of what we wrote about Ham rings true for Williams, too - seriously, that offensive line was outstanding - the left tackle and Memphis signee was crucial in protecting Brand's blind side season long. All those extra seconds he provided allowed the quarterback to be magical.

[player_tooltip player_id='589056' first='Miles' last='Robinson'] Oceanside Collegiate (Up 147 spots)

Robinson was really good during his time at Waccamaw. But after he moved south and enrolled at Oceanside, he hit another gear. The state championship linebacker finished the season with 131 tackles, 27 tackles for loss and nine sacks.

[player_tooltip player_id='997363' first='Landon' last='Armstrong'] Rock Hill (Up 152 spots, pictured)

We already knew his tackles figures were going to be off the charts. And they were. But during his development, he got so good at reading plays that he also had a crucial 20 tackles for loss and a bunch of quarterback hurries, too.
