Stroman Bridges Stroman Bridges 6'0" | 185 lbs | QB Midland | 2025 TX , Midland: After missing the first five games of the season due to a collarbone injury suffered in a preseason scrimmage, Bridges returned in early October and was simply sensational, rushing for 618 yards and 7 TD in 7 games. He was slated to be Midland’s starting QB, but was utilized as a slot WR and other spots. It will be interesting to see how the Bulldogs use him in 2024.
Mikey Cota, Odessa: The Bronchos’ QB threw for over 3,000 yards and 37 TD with just 9 INT as a junior to lead Odessa’s high-powered offense. Odessa loses 6-foot-6 stud WR Ivan Carreon (signed with SEC-bound Oklahoma) but Jalen Warren (47 receptions) and Andrew Rodriguez (37) return, so Cota will have some nice weapons to work with.
Boyd Cox, Coahoma: Coahoma didn’t reach the Class 3A, D2 playoffs but the future is promising with Cox at QB. As a sophomore in 2023, Boyd threw for 1,859 yards and 22 TD after throwing for 2,044 yards as a freshman in 2022. Going into his junior campaign, Cox has already thrown for 3,903 yards and 41 TD in his career.
JaeSean DeBouse, Andrews: The sophomore RB for the Mustangs had quite a varsity debut, rushing for 2,236 yards and 24 TD, averaging 186.3 yards per game. DeBouse was named District 4A-2 Newcomer of the Years and the Midland Reporter-Telegram’s Newcomer of the Year. Clearly, his potential is off the charts.
Kemyd Faciane, Wink: Faciane proved to be one of the top freshman running backs in West Texas by rushing for 1,719 yards and 17 TD on 173 carries. Wink reached the second round of the Class 2A, D2 playoffs, but with Faciane the future is certainly promising.
Jakob Garcia, Odessa Permian: After throwing for 874 yards and 12 TD this past season along with rushing for 208 yards, Garcia will be counted on more in 2024 as the Panthers lose their top two rushers to graduation.
Elijah McCoy, Midland: McCoy made the jump from part-time reserve in 2022 to No. 1 RB in 2023, emerging as one of the top ball carriers in West Texas. He finished with 1,548 yards and 22 TD on a workhorse 236 carries, helping Midland start 8-0.
Kasch Norman, Fort Stockton: The sophomore contributed both as a rusher and pass catcher in 2023 as he rushed for 330 yards and 7 TD while catching 27 passes for 262 yards. Fort Stockton loses several offensive standouts to graduation, so Norman’s role will likely increase in 2024.
Aidan Serrano, Midland Legacy: With Purdue signee Marcos Davila Marcos Davila 6'3" | 205 lbs | QB Midland Lee | 2024 State TX throwing him the ball, Serrano had a superb 2023 season with 76 receptions for 1,008 yards and 11 TD in 13 games. No reason to believe he’ll slow down in 2024.
Logan Smith, Alpine: After reaching the second round of the Class 3A, D2 playoffs this past season, the future is bright for Alpine with Smith returning following a junior season in which he rushed for 1,542 yards and 14 TD on a workhorse 285 carries. Junior QB Devon Rojo returns in 2024 as well.
