Marquis Fennell Marquis Fennell 5'9" | 175 lbs | RB Valwood | 2027 State GA – Valwood
An explosive young running back who shredded defenses left and right last season in year one, the Valdosta native helped lead his team to a 2023 GIAA AAA State Championship thanks to his excellent play on the ground. The dynamic runner is quick, shifty, and knows how to take off down the field. He’s incredibly elusive and knows how to zig-zag his way past defenders down the field. He shows good vision and tremendous athleticism for his size. He’s a natural with the ball in his hands, and even as a freshman, was consistently one of the better players on the field at all times. He played as well as any running back in the state last year in the 2027 class, taking off for 931 yards and 19 touchdowns on the ground in addition to his 29 receptions for 469 yards and three touchdowns. A playmaking machine who can make an impact no matter where he’s lined up, Fennell should be even better next year as a sophomore and could start seeing some serious college interest come his way.
Deron Foster Deron Foster 5'9" | 160 lbs | RB Valdosta | 2027 State GA – Valdosta
Another impressive freshman back down in South Georgia, Foster made his presence known early on that he was one of the top young backs in the area. At 5-foot-9 170-pounds, Foster showed that even though he’s young, that he’s a tough but smooth runner who has no problem running against quality 7A defenses. He’s a natural runner with good vision and a feel for the position, and it led to him being one of the most productive freshman running backs across the state this past season. In total, the Valdosta ball-carrier rushed 144 times for 912 yards and 12 touchdowns. He also ran for a touchdown in every game but two during his first high school season. He showed lots of promise and should be only better as a sophomore and beyond. If he keeps up his promising play, this South Georgia back could see some D1 offers come his way down the road.
Brayden Stoker Brayden Stoker 6'2" | 180 lbs | ATH Gordon Lee | 2027 State GA – Gordon Lee
A versatile back who can run the football and make plays out of the backfield as a pass-catcher, Stoker is a tremendous overall athlete who very productive and is coming off a big freshman season in 2023. He can play defense as well due to his grit, toughness and physical frame at 6-foot-2 195-pounds. When given an opportunity to run the ball, Stoker brings a game-changing presence. He carried the ball 113 times for 733 yards and 11 touchdowns. He rushed for over 100 yards in four games with his best game coming against Ft. Oglethorpe where he rushed for an eye-opening 171 yards and three touchdowns. He played much better than most freshmen running backs and should play an even bigger role as a sophomore in 2024.
