Continue ReadingThe Prep Redzone Stock Up Showcase came through Weymouth, MA this past weekend. Our showcases are a great opportunity for high school football prospects to get exposure in front of college coaches and Prep Redzone scouts. Testing results were recorded for colleges across the country to access following the event. With Prep Redzone scouts in attendance, dedicated to highlighting top performers, players received unparalleled coverage during, and after the event on PrepRedzone.com and social media. After check-in, athletes attending were broken into three portions: testing, position-specific drills, and 1-on-1 competition. Testing included the 40-yard dash (hand-timed), pro shuttle (hand-timed), L Drill (hand-timed), and broad jump. We will be releasing these results here on the site in another publication.
The showcase ended with notable top performers being recognized and ended with the selection of an MVP for each position. The prospects below were selected as the Top Performers and MVP amongst the Wide Receiver group.
Top Performer
Collin Christiansen
Top Wide Receiver Performer: The freshman is coming off a 2023 season where he earned varsity playing time at the New England Prep Level. His frame easily caught my attention. At 6’3″ and being as athletic as he is, he will get any coach excited to see him perform in a live evaluation setting, He displayed very good range combined with good eye and hand coordination.rnHis early varsity years has surely helped him in his development and confidence to play at a high level. He doesn’t let the ball hit his body and can pluck the ball from the air with ease. He is a QB dream target and can make difficult catches look easy. Loved what I saw and surely has my attention to follow his recruitment more closely moving forward.

Top Wide Receiver Performer: A prospect that will be a future star as he matriculates to his sophomore season. I saw several traits that I liked about his performance. I’ll start with toughness. He flashed a desire to hightop any ball when needed to secure the catch. Has soft, reliable and natural catching ability. In several reps, he flashed his ability to adjust to the ball in the air. Throw in his higher level body control and balance with a hard jab step that allows him to change direction quickly with the ball after the catch, and he is a threat to get big YAC. Has an athletic frame to continue developing.
Highlights
Derrick Scott
Top Wide Receiver Performer: He caught the attention of positional coaches during the competitive period. His performance had him close to being named WR MVP at this camp. A promising young man out of Brookfield HS in Connecticut was a pleasure to Evaluate. He performed at a high level throughout the showcase. His most impressive play was during one one-on-one drills at the end when he faced a top-selected db. He was able to flash his experience in getting off press man coverage and execute crisp route running skills. He made a very impressive back-shoulder catch that made many go “wow’ as he laid his body out to do so. Has obvious length and range seen.
Antonio Bearden
Top Wide Receiver Performer: The rising sophomore showed his versatility by taking both Wr and Db reps at the showcase. His effort caught the attention of many positional coaches and his performance earned him recognition at both WR and DB. He was selected as a defensive back MVP while he also shined brightly at WR. He has very good length in his frame and can run crisp effective routes that get him separated from defenders. rnI have witnessed him in an evaluation setting along with performing in live game action and his skills have been consistent each time. He is a very good prospect with good athletic coordination.
Highlights
Herlin Perry
Wide Receiver MVP: He is another prospect who took reps at both DB and WR positions. His last rep at WR was seen as a higher-level graded rep.
This rep was impressive, as he was being pressed by an experienced DB and he used his obvious burst with quickness to get a clean release. While running the go route, he gave a nice breakdown fake to give the defender something to think about in short area, then used a burst of acceleration to pull away from his defender and make a nice catch in stride downfield. An experienced route that made it easy for me to give him the MVP honors on the day. rnI’ve had the pleasure to see him perform a few times in an evaluation setting during spring 2023, and he has always shown a very good understanding of both WR and DB position skills. He also was a top performer amongst the DB groups during this showcase. Versatile athlete.
