Dallas 26 Bishop McDevitt 23 in double overtime.
Dallas was resilient in the victory. They deserve a ton of credit for how they played. They were just as physical as McDevitt and had a good game plan of running the ball to take the time off the clock. McDevitt is a talented team, but Dallas matched them on the night and showed that they were capable of defeating them. Dallas deserves all the credit for the victory. Bishop McDevitt still had a crazy two year run. Winning it all last year and then losing a heart breaker to Dallas is tough, but an incredible couple years for Bishop McDevitt.
Top Prospects from the game:
Brady Zapoticky Brady Zapoticky 6’1″ | 185 lbs | QB Dallas | 2025 State PA was not perfect on the night, but he made several big throws for Dallas to get the victory. He threw two touchdowns on the night. The 1st one was a beautiful throw and catch by Nick Farrell in the endzone. The other touchdown was another good pass in overtime to get them the lead. Zapoticky is a good quaterback that proved his talent in the big upset victory.
Nick Farrell
Nick Farrell
Nick Farrell made one of the best catches you ever see when he went up and caught the ball over a defender to get a big touchdown for Dallas. Farrell shows that he has good size and can both block and catch the ball well in traffic from his tight-end position.
Rico Scott Rico Scott 6’0″ | 185 lbs | WR Bishop McDevitt | 2024 State PA has had a great career for McDevitt and his next stop is Alabama. In this game he caught another touchdown pass. His 23rd touchdown pass from Stone Sanders this season. The pair were one of the best qb-wr combos you will see in high school football.
Nazir Jones-Davis Nazir Jones-Davis 6’0″ | 185 lbs | RB Bishop McDevitt | 2026 State PA made a name for himself in this game. He had several great runs on the evening. Then he had one of the best touchdown plays I have ever seen. Facing a 3rd and goal from the 12 in overtime McDevitt ran a screen to him. He looked like he was going to get tackled by 3 Dallas defenders, but he made a great play and broke all the tackles to scamper into the end zone.
Northwestern Lehigh 33-Wyomissing 24
In a back and forthback-and-forthquarter game, Northwestern Lehigh made a few more plays in the 4th quater to pull away from a talented Wyomissing team. I came away super impressed with Northwestern Lehigh. When Wyomissing took a 24-20 lead Northwestern Lehigh calmly went downfield to take the lead. The big play was a screen pass. Northwestern Lehigh had several screen passes called at the exact time for big plays. Wyomissing had an incredible run, but just came up a little short in defeat. Tough defeat for them, but well deserved for Northwestern Lehigh.
Top prospects from the game:
Devin Hildebrand
Devin Hildebrand
Devin Hildebrand made several plays on the evening for Northwestern Lehigh. The two biggest were on the game-winning drive which gave them the lead that they never surrender. The 1st one was a screen pass that he caught and rambled down to inside the 10. Then on 4th down, Hildebrand was in as a wildcat quarterback and scored a touchdown. Then scored the final touchdown to ice the game. Hildebrand showed how talented of a player he is.
Dalton Clymer Dalton Clymer 6’0″ | 190 lbs | ATH Northwestern Lehigh | 2024 State PA is the starting running back for Northwestern Lehigh. He showed a good ability to hit the hole and then make people miss. He is also a physical runner who is hard to take down. The other part of his game that was impressive was his ability to block. On the key touchdown by Devin Hildebrand, he made the key block to let him score. Clymer showed he was a complete back.
Caleb Brewer Caleb Brewer 6’5″ | 285 lbs | OL Wyomissing | 2024 State PA the Penn State commit played a great game on both sides of the ball. He was his usual dominant offensive lineman. He also did a great job at the defensive line by making plays in the backfield. Finally, he showed a motor that never quits. Penn State is getting a good player.
Peters Township 14-Cocalico 9
A classic game that went down to the wire. Cocalico played a great game and was at the 2-yard line on the last play of the game and couldn’t score. Peters Township stuffed Cocalico on the option toss play and came away with the victory. Cocalico looked like the game was over, but a fumble by a Peters Township player opened the door for Cocalico to have a chance to win the game, but they couldn’t pull it off. Peters Township deserves a ton of credit for battling back to shut down Cocalico at the goaline. Cocalico has had a great season, and they should be proud of the season.
Nolan DiLucia Nolan DiLucia 6’2″ | 190 lbs | QB Peters Township | 2026 State PA the Sophomore quarterback for Peters Township played a good game for them to advance to the state championship game. He threw two touchdown passes on the evening and overall played very well. The 1st touchdown pass was a great throw. He threw the ball where only the defender could catch the ball between two Cocalico defenders. It was a great catch by Carter Shenafelt, but a great throw as well. As a Sophomore DiLucia is a name to keep track of.
Highlights
Carter Shanafelt Carter Shanafelt 5’11” | 180 lbs | WR Peters Township | 2024 State PA made an incredible catch for a touchdown reception. He had two Cocalico defenders drapped on him and he went up and made the catch to get Peters Township the 7-0 led. It was a great catch that deserves recognition. Shanafelt is a good wide receiver that does an excellent job catching the ball in traffic.
On the evening Cocalico rushed for 98 yards on 47 carries. An impressive effort by Peters Township. Mickey Vaccarello Mickey Vaccarello 6’3″ | 210 lbs | LB Peters Township | 2025 State PA is one of the key reasons why. He was all over the field from his linebacker position. He is a good tackler and does a nice job running sideline-to-sideline to make tackles. An impressive prospect who constantly makes plays all over the field.
Highlights
Josh Myer Josh Myer 6’1″ | 185 lbs | QB Cocalico | 2025 State PA is the starting quarterback for Cocalico, but he is known more for his rushing than his passing since Cocalico runs the veer offense. When Cocalico needed a touchdown pass through the air Myer connected and threw a 25-yard touchdown pass. It was the only touchdown on the evening for Cocalico. Myer also ran the ball hard all night and made the proper reads for the Cocalico veer offense.
