This week, Prep Redzone Scout Drew Johnson will highlight instrumental recruits who have consistently produced this season. As noted frequently, Prep Redzone Florida aims to provide adequate coverage of all athletes for college coaches At All Levels and readers to evaluate. Let’s get into some of the stats, Hudl films, and recent offers from some of the rising recruits in the state of Florida.
Jarquez Carter | 2025 | DT | Newberry | @JarquezCarter | 3.6 GPA
6’3, 270
2023 stats: 67 total tackles – 37.0 TFL
Carter is beginning to emerge as one of the premier defensive tackle prospects in the class of 2025 since landing as a top standout in the Prep Redzone Showcase in Bradenton, FL. Carter can set the edge really well for a player of his stature and be an anchor in the tackle spot. He continues to develop and will be one of the top names in the area before his senior season.
Carl Jenkins Carl Jenkins 6'3" | 165 lbs | WR St. Augustine | 2025 FL Jr | WR | 2025 | SAHS | @thecarljenkins
2023 stats: 34 catches, 723 yards, 10 TDs, 90.4 YPG
Jenkins has stamped himself as one of the top 2025 WR prospects in the state after earning All-District honors in his junior season. Jenkins is an electric athlete with sticky-glue hands and is a home run threat after the catch. Jenkins has flashed good route-running skills and initial release while using basketball-esque hops to beat defenders mid-air for contested catches. He’s also displayed vapor speed to beat defenders in coverage and is equally lethal in open space. A rising prospect that should be on all Florida universities’ radar.
Logan Mccloud Logan Mccloud 6'2" | DL Newberry | 2025 FL | 2025 | Newberry | @theloganmccloud | 3.5 GPA
6’2, 225
2023 stats: 73 total tackles – 21.0 TFL
McCloud continues to develop his overall game this offseason and is set to be one of the interesting prospects on the Newberry big three. McCloud is a versatile athlete who can play multiple positions on the defensive side because of his athleticism and agility skills. He’s a dynamic playmaker who finished third on Newberry’s defensive in tackles for loss and I expect his recruitment to begin shaking up heading into the off-season.
Ben Beymer Ben Beymer 6'8" | 290 lbs | OL Lakeland | 2025 State FL | OL | 2025 | Lakeland | @BenBeymer
6’8, 290
Beymer made the move over to Lakeland High for his junior season where he’s flashed on tape as a developing tackle prospect that has the tools in the box to work and become a true D1 prospect. He’s the tallest lineman on the list that fits the college look but once he works more on his bend and hands, his upside will be through the roof.
Mykah Newton Mykah Newton 6'3" | 240 lbs | DL Newberry | 2025 State FL | 2025 | Newberry | @MykahNewton1
6’3, 245
2023 stats: 62 total tackles – 26.0 TFLNewton has dominated the offseason circuit since the Prep Redzone Showcase a while ago. Newton is a part of the three-headed monster at Newberry High consisting of Carter, Newton, and Mccloud . Newton is a big presence with great length at 6-foot-3 with plenty of time to add more muscle to his frame. He is a technician with his hands and understands pad leverage. Newton will be another top prospect in the area by his senior season.
