New Jersey had many double digit sack performances, but these five really separate themselves from the pack as they struck fear into opposing quarterbacks game in and game out. Look for these players to do great things at the next level.
Travis Trempy Travis Trempy 6’0″ | 175 lbs | LB Brick | 2024 NJ was the leading sack artist in the state in 2023. Compiling 21 sacks from the outside linebacker position, the Brick product was able to use his quick footwork to get linemen moving in the wrong direction. A relentless pass rusher, Travis used his hands aggressively to throw blockers arms down in pursuit of the QB. And with quick acceleration when the QB tries to get out of the pocket, Travis is a player schools need to start reaching out to.
Aidan Oldfield Aidan Oldfield 6’4″ | 220 lbs | DL Oakcrest | 2025 NJ was an absolute terror on the Oakcrest defense. Aidan is another player that deserves a lot more collegiate attention. As a junior, Aidan rarely gave the QB a lot of time to throw the ball, often getting to them before their receivers were breaking on their routes. He accelerates off of the ball and delivers his hands to the blocker as soon as the ball is snapped. A physical defender, Aidan really shined all of 2023 as he racked up 18 sacks. Look out for a big senior year out of Aidan next fall.
Michael Consolazio
Michael Consolazio
An outside linebacker for Marlboro, Michael Consolazio brought the quarterback to the ground 14 times this fall. Coming off of the edge with speed, Michael would often catch the tackle off guard with his elusiveness. He isn’t just fast but strong as well. If the blocker didn’t set up with a stable stance they could find themselves lying on their backs. What separates Michael from a lot of defenders in the state is his pursuit of the quarterback. He will trail them all the way across the field and catch them from behind.
David Brothers David Brothers 6’1″ | 185 lbs | DL Bernards | 2024 NJ was one of the most impressive defensive ends in the 2023 season. Bringing the pressure for Bernards, David was able to find his way to the QB 13 times. A team that made it far into the playoffs, a lot of that success revolved around Bernard’s ability to attack the quarterback and make them feel uncomfortable. David was the focal point of that impressive rush.
Dwight-Morrow’ Maurice Williams Maurice Williams DB Dwight-Morrow | 2025 NJ doesn’t have any highlights to show, but it’s safe to say if you put up 13 sacks in a season you are a big time playmaker. Leading an absolutely dominant defense, Maurice and Co. constantly pressured QBs all season long as they shut out two opponents and held another two opponents to under 10 points. Only a junior, Maurice has one more year to continue racking up sacks.
