Aidan Oldfield Aidan Oldfield 6'4" | 220 lbs | DL Oakcrest | 2025 State NJ from Oakcrest is an uncommitted prospect with all the physical attributes of a prototypical edge rusher. Standing at 6’4” and weighing 255 pounds, Aidan’s build is impressive, with long limbs, broad shoulders, and the kind of length that makes him a force on the edge. Physically, he shows solid get-off speed at the snap and an explosive initial burst that helps him gain an advantage quickly.

He’s relentless in pursuit, exhibiting a high motor and tenacity, making him a challenging matchup for any offensive lineman. On the run defense, Aidan does an excellent job maintaining leverage and positioning himself for tackles for loss, showing strong discipline and awareness.

The hometown hero Aidan Oldfield Aidan Oldfield 6'4" | 220 lbs | DL Oakcrest | 2025 State NJ made it to the final four. Oakcrest’s own took the inside rush lane when it was presented to him. He also did an exceptional job using his hands to swat and eliminate those of his blockers. Oldfield showed instances of power too, as he showcased his ability to drive a man backwards, lock his arms, snatch them down, and shed to the quarterback. One thing in particular I enjoyed about Oldfield’s performance was that when he took back-to-back spins one time, he used the rip twice. What I appreciated about this rip is that Oldfield was a bit cocky in that approach, showing the same move twice, yet the second rip was stronger and more violent than the first. He flexed his muscle a bit there.

Today we start off with the hometown hero, Aidan Oldfield Aidan Oldfield 6'4" | 220 lbs | DL Oakcrest | 2025 State NJ . A standout from the host-site Oakcrest High School, the Falcons’ standout end boats two things: he let the state in sacks last season and a 4.o GPA. Moreover, the film shows us that Oldfield wins so frequently because of his get off. This get off commands that offensive linemen account for the outside, which he has shown to utilize to effectively open up the inside lane. He works his hands at moments and has shown flashes of an ability to tightly bend corners. Knowing this going in, I want to see Oldfield work his hips around this weekend to remind each matchup who led the state in sacks.

Aiden Oldfield, standing at 6’4” and weighing 220 pounds, is a versatile defensive lineman capable of playing both edge rusher and three-tech positions with excellence. Notably, Oldfield possesses a well-defined pass rush plan, a rarity among edge rushers, enabling him to execute moves effectively in various situations. When deployed as a three-tech, he excels at maintaining low pad level and utilizing his size advantage to dominate the line of scrimmage, particularly with bull rushes and leveraging solid technique to disrupt plays in the run game and pressure the quarterback. Oldfield’s relentless motor and solid pursuit further enhance his effectiveness on the field, complemented by his impressive arm length and ability to make tackles in open space. While already a standout player, Oldfield has room for growth, particularly in refining his hand usage and enhancing his ability to shoot gaps with greater precision and control. With his multifaceted skill set and high ceiling for improvement, Oldfield emerges as a potential breakout star in the upcoming season, poised to make significant strides and leave a lasting impact on the defensive line.

Aidan Oldfield Aidan Oldfield 6'4" | 220 lbs | DL Oakcrest | 2025 State NJ ‘s size and dimensions alone separate him from others within the state. The Oakcrest defensive end had a phenomenal 2023 campaign, as he sacked the QB 18 times, accumulated 63 tackles, and forced 2 fumbles. Arguably the most college ready d-lineman in the state, Aidan is a pass rusher that is to be feared every game of the season. With the strength to overpower blockers and drive them deep into the backfield, Aidan needs to be double teamed if his opponents want any success against him. Going up against Oakcrest, it is extremely tough for any offense to run deep vertical routes. Aidan is able to get into the backfield quickly and in the QB’s face to disrupt the timing of the pass. This is a defender that deserves a lot more attention.

Aidan Oldfield Aidan Oldfield 6'4" | 220 lbs | DL Oakcrest | 2025 State NJ was an absolute terror on the Oakcrest defense. Aidan is another player that deserves a lot more collegiate attention. As a junior, Aidan rarely gave the QB a lot of time to throw the ball, often getting to them before their receivers were breaking on their routes. He accelerates off of the ball and delivers his hands to the blocker as soon as the ball is snapped. A physical defender, Aidan really shined all of 2023 as he racked up 18 sacks. Look out for a big senior year out of Aidan next fall.

We start off today’s evaluation with the only junior on the list, Oakcrest’s Aidan Oldfield Aidan Oldfield 6'4" | 220 lbs | DL Oakcrest | 2025 State NJ . Despite being a junior, Oldfield led the state in sacks with 18 on the season. Oldfield has a solid get off from the snap and is quicker to accelerate upfield. Whether he is working from the interior or off the edge, he finds a way to keep working his hands to gain an advantage. In terms of stopping the run, he knows to squeeze down the line of scrimmage to chase plays down from the backside. Oldfield has the requisite strength to discard smaller, weaker opponents with ease and works a good swim move when defenders lean. It appears that Oldfield also is coached to strip the ball if he arrives to the quarterback, as we see him play the ball rather than the man at times. For Oldfield to add to his already impressive sack total he must bend the corner a bit tighter. He can do this by activating and flipping his hips with more regularity and torque.

This might be the second time Oldfield has been identified as a weekly pass rushing standout. On the heels of a heartbreaking 0-3 loss at Moorestown, Oakcrest needed a big win to return to the .500 mark on the season as they head down the stretch. Oldfield did more than his part as he led the state in sacks this week with 4. Additionally, he had another tackle for loss as well as 6 other tackles in the 22-13 victory at Absegami.
