Travez Gibson – Greene County
Down in Greensboro is where you’ll find one of the top sleeper running backs across Middle Georgia. Gibson, who may be on the smaller side, is quick, shows great explosion, and tough to strike. He’s a slippery back who slides of defender due to his balance and quick feet. The small-town freshman has rushed for 630 yards and 8 touchdowns this season. He carries the ball a good bit for someone his age, and he’s earned every yard. Gibson has rushed for at least 50 yards in every game this season, showing why he’s been one of the more dependable freshmen backs across the state. His biggest game came against Towns County where he rushed for 103 yards an two touchdowns. He loves the game, loves to compete, and is having an excellent first season of high school football.
One of the top overall backs not only in West Georgia, but across the state in the 2026 class, Farmer is a natural runner who does a great job of running with balance and dragging defenders for extra yards. He’s tough to tackle and does so many things well. A true impact player for one of the best teams in the state, Farmer has really opened some eyes this season in year two. He’s quick, shifty, and doesn’t mind contact. He’s rushed for 959 yards this season and 17 touchdowns. The young back scores touchdowns consistently, finding the end-zone in every game but one so far this season. He’s rushed for at least 100 yards in four games this fall with his biggest game coming in a win over Rome where he took off for just under 200 yards on the ground. He’s rushing for over 100 yards a game and a respectable 6.7 yards per carry. Look for this young sophomore to keep running wild for the rest of the 2023 season.
Camden Cox – River Ridge
A tough back with good vision, Cox is an exciting back to watch and one of the very best in Cherokee County. The 5-foot-11 180-pounder shows good footwork and burst up the field when he sees a hole open up. He’s good at staying on his feet after initial contact and has lit up the stat sheet this season, rushing for 676 yards and five touchdowns. He’s tough to bring down by just one defender and has been a very dependable option on the ground this fall. His biggest game came against Pope where he took off for 233 yards and a touchdown in week two. He’s rushed for at least 60 yards in six games and has hit the 88-yard mark three times. He’s an under the radar back to know across the state in the 2026 class.
