Millard South’s Dylan Kuhl Dylan Kuhl 6’0″ | 195 lbs | LB Millard South | 2025 State NE has made a case for breakout player of the year amid a spectacular junior year. Playing a major role in one of the most stifling defenses in Class A, Dylan has racked up 43 tackles, 10 TFLs, 5 sacks, 5 interceptions, 3 fumble recoveries, 2 forced fumbles, 3 interceptions returned for touchdowns, and a fumble returned for a touchdown. Clearly, Dylan’s best attribute is his uncanny nose for the football. There came a 3 to 4 game stretch in which Dylan scored every week… on defense. His instincts are incredible to watch on the field as he can read plays very well and is extremely quick to break on the ball. Dylan does a great job playing his gaps when going north and south and can shed blocks very well. He also shows excellent sideline-to-sideline range when dropping into coverage. Dylan also plays a reliable role on offense, hauling in 13 receptions for 198 yards and 3 receiving touchdowns. The Patriots are still in the middle of their playoff run so Dylan will have more opportunities to provide us with more dynamic plays and continue to boost his stock!

Here’s a guy that people should be paying closer attention to. Lincoln East’s Mikhale Ford Mikhale Ford 6’1″ | 170 lbs | DB Lincoln East | 2025 State NE was one of the biggest risers this season and has emerged as one top DBs in his class. Through 9 games, Mikhale has recorded 21 tackles, a TFL, 2 interceptions, a forced fumble, and one interception return for a touchdown. Ford has the prototypical size you like to see in modern corners, standing at 6’1″ and 170 pounds with a lengthier frame. He is very fluid in coverage with smooth footwork and the ability to flip his hips on a dime. Ford has a reported 4.5 40-yard time which is evident on the field. I like Ford’s physicality both in coverage and his willingness to defend against the run. Mikhale’s ball skills were also nice to see on film as he displays great instincts for getting his hands up and trying to make a play on the ball. Mikhale is a great overall athlete, also proving to be an asset on offense with 8 receptions, 124 yards, and a receiving touchdown. Expect Mikhale to make some noise this offseason as I think he’ll be hot commodity once more coaches catch on.

There’s a dangerous receiving duo brewing in Elkhorn with juniors Peyton Turman Peyton Turman 6’3″ | 185 lbs | WR Elkhorn | 2025 State NE and Charlie Lamski Charlie Lamski 6’3″ | 200 lbs | TE Elkhorn | 2025 State NE . Peyton emerged as a go-to target on the Elkhorn offense, building a strong connection with his QB and provided a reliable safety blanket target. The thing that stood out right away was Peyton’s knack for crazy, highlight reel catches. He possesses great concentration through the catch process and hand strength to hang on through contact. When watching Peyton’s tape it is clear that he is always very aware of the down & distance and can get open at the sticks- practically a walking first down. Great size at 6’3″ and 185 pounds, he can create mismatches on the outside, and also has deceiving speed to threaten defenses vertically. Lots to like about this Antlers receiver!
Things are looking up for Aurora QB Booker Scheierman Booker Scheierman 6’7″ | 190 lbs | QB Aurora | 2025 State NE … literally! The 6’7″ junior QB has enjoyed a solid first full season as QB1 and has shown several flashes of being a next-level QB. I don’t have Booker’s full season totals, but through 5 games (per Max Preps) he has thrown for 1,097 yards and 12 touchdowns. Booker displays a great arm with solid strength and can really put some zip on the ball. He has several throws throughout his tape where he is able to fit the ball into tight windows and delivers the ball with good placement. One thing that really stood out was Booker’s mobility, also adding 157 yards and 3 touchdowns on the ground. Additionally, his big 6’7″ 190 pound frame make him tough to tackle once he does get moving. Scheierman does a great job maneuvering the pocket and evading pressure. Booker and the Huskies experienced a few growing pains this season but overall showed tons of potential with a big offseason coming up.
