Postseason Preview: Class (2S) Players To Watch

It's Playoff time folks! The Florida High School Athletics Association hosted a live football bracket show on Sunday to reveal high school playoff rankings and matchups in march to the Florida HS State Championship that will be played at FAMU. Before then, Prep Redzone will be highlighting some of the notable players in their classifications and positions.    Here are notable prospects from Class 2S.   QBs:   [player_tooltip player_id='1247449' first='Brady' last='Hart'] | QB | 2026 | Cocoa | @BradyHartQB   Taking a look at the talent level and upside potential of the 2026 QB class in the state of Florida, it could be one of the deepest we've seen in years.    There's one who has stood out as he's dominated in his sophomore season against the best competition. A legit 6-5 quarterback prospect, [player_tooltip player_id='1247449' first='Brady' last='Hart'] has helped lead Cocoa High School to a 9-1 regular season finish with the No. 1 seed in the playoffs on the Road To State.    2023 stats: 2550 yards, 33 TD   [player_tooltip player_id='826544' first='Carter' last='Smith'] | QB | 2025 | Bishop Verot | @_CarterSmith9   One of the top 2025 QBs in the country has been on point this season, sealing himself as the RealDeal for college coaches. He capped off his impressive junior campaign with a District 2S-16 title in a 50-point blowout win vs. Estero.    2023 stats: 103/164, 1696 yards, 24-1 TD/INT   [player_tooltip player_id='1317535' first='Ryan' last='Huff'] | QB | 2025 | Pensacola Catholic | @RyanHuff2025QB   The 6-4, 208-pound junior has one of the better frames and potential upside in the class/state. He led PCHS to an 8-2 regular season finish and will face Suwannee (6-3) in the first round of the playoffs. Huff has already picked up some Division I offers because of his pocket presence and ability to put throws on the money.    2023 stats: 104/191, 1520 yards, 9-5 TD/INT   [player_tooltip player_id='404540' first='Haden' last='Klees'] | QB | 2024 | Wakulla | @HadenKlees   Klees has come up big this season for Wakulla as he leads the state in passing yards to wrap up his final senior regular season. He finished with 2 TD passes to close out district foe Suwannee 24-21 to give Wakulla a 10-0 regular season record. About time some colleges start showing some interest.   Carson Hawk | QB |    [player_tooltip player_id='223677' first='Jeremy' last='Johnston'] | Class of 2024 | Florida High (FSUHS) | @JeremyWJJ12   Johnston is calm in the pocket, doesn't get flustered, and understands how to go through his progressions.   2023 stats:   Carson Montsdeoca | QB | Class of 2024 | Fort Meade | @CarsonMontsdeo1   Record: 8-0   Montsdeoca has led Fort Meade to an undefeated season so far behind center. The Florida baseball commit has a laser and showed he can play the position at the next level. The Miners are undefeated heading into a big-time game on Friday. Monstdeoca has let hit playmakers eat with good downfield throws and smart decisions.    2023 stats: 71/100 (71%), 1133 yards, 18-4 TD-INT   RBs:   Jeffrey Duvalt | RB | Class of 2024 | Mulberry | @ohthatsdj4   2023 stats: 111 rushes, 1356 yards, 18 TD   This kid will be a production piece for whoever gets his talent on the recruiting trail. He has nearly 20 rushing touchdowns this season and could finish with 1,500 rushing yards. Just check the film, good speed, vision, and balance to get it done in the rushing game at the next level.    [player_tooltip player_id='833712' first='Keveun' last='Mason'] | RB | Class of 2025 | Fort Meade | @keveunmason07   2023 stats: 108 rushes | 1067 yards | 14 TD | 9.9 yards per carry    Mason has been stamped as a true riser and has moved in my top 5 running back prospects in Polk since transferring to Fort Meade. He will pick up some D1 offers during the offseason as he has totaled over 1,000 yards rushing while showing his versatile skill sets throughout the season.   Christian Cromer | Class of 2024 | Nature Coast Tech | @chriscromer_    Wow just look at the numbers and stat lines Cromer has totaled in his senior season. Over 1,000 rushing yards with 27 rushing touchdowns. Boggs has dominated opposing defenses all season, totaling 9 receiving touchdowns in the three games. The recent Ohio State commit is a huge upside wide receiver prospect who has been ultra-productive for Cocoa this season.   [player_tooltip player_id='944699' first='Josiah' last='Booker'] | 2024 WR | Booker | @JosiahBooker8   Really impressed with Booker's ability to simply beat his defender with pure speed and effective footwork. Booker is a dual-sport athlete who has good body control and developed route-running skills. Just get the ball in his hands and Booker will do the rest. Big play ability with promising catching skills.   Joshua Porter | WR | Class of 2024 | Fort Meade | @PorterJoshuaWR2   The 2024 Fort Meade product has been one of the more complete WR prospects to come out of Polk County in recent years. He's currently committed to USF as he's dominated his competition since the off-season period. Porter is a route-running demon who breaks off defenders as he stops on a dime and is learning to stack defensive backs. He can also be dangerous after the catch with decent speed and awareness.   [player_tooltip player_id='606130' first='CJ' last='Bragg'] | WR | Class of 2024 | Cocoa | @CJBragg6   Not sure how Bragg continues to be overlooked as he's put in the work during the offseason which has translated into the fall. Bragg is second on the team in total receiving yards because of his slick route running and sure hands. He can provide for a lot of colleges in the state of Florida who are missing out on a production piece.    2023 stats: 68 catches 1,021 yards and 8 touchdowns   [player_tooltip player_id='944718' first='Nehemiah' last='Chandler'] | ATH  | 2024 | Wakulla | @nehemiah904   Chandler was one of the more exciting prospects that I've watched live because of his ability to always find a way to get open. He scored on various passing routes from the short to long ball. Has really soft hands with good route-running skills and a quick release to beat most defenders off the line-a-scrimmage.    Georgia Tech commit   Ryan Screen | WR | Class of 2024 | Fort Meade | @s_ryanscreen   These 3 are a part of the Miner Big 4 that's been brewing since this off-season. Just check the film under each of these kids' names. True ballers with ever-growing chemistry.    [player_tooltip player_id='833761' first='Nicholas' last='Teeter'] | WR | Class of 2025 | Cocoa | @NicholasteeterN   Teeter is nearly unguardable in 1v1 situations and has put up solid numbers this season. Teeter plays at state-champion Cocoa High under offensive coordinator Adam Franco. Coach Franco called it out before the season that he would be hard to stop, and he exceeded expectations with slick footwork in his route running combined with sure hands. Teeter is very physical for his size but really impressed with smooth route running and the ability to stack and finish his routes. Checks a lot of boxes when watching his film combined with a solid frame.    2023 stats: 95 total tackles, 14.0 TFL, 3.0 sacks   Zsacari Minnis | EDGE | Class of 2024 | Eustis | @Zsacarim6ix   Minnis was my overall MVP at a USF camp because of his sheer ability to win out every rep I saw during the 1v1 session and he's only translated that into the regular season for Eustis. At 6-3, 220-pounds he has a developed frame and shows off he's not just a big body but has good hand technique and speed. A true hidden gem with a few offers but could potentially play Power 5 ball.   Offers: Troy, Georgia Southern, WKU   2023 stats:    Timothy Jones | LB | 2024 | Mulberry | @timothyjones_jr   The tackle leader of the Mulberry Panthers defense has shocked the city this season with how well-coached and passionate the team has played together despite many tough seasons. Jones is another sleeper linebacker prospect who has a decent frame and has continued to produce good stats.     2023 stats: 107 total tackles, 20.0 TFL, 4.0 sacks, 11.9 TPG   [player_tooltip player_id='404257' first='Samadrae' last='Hawkins'] | LB | 2024 | Cocoa | @samadraehawkins   Hawkins is a true headhunter for the Tigers who led the team in total tackles during his junior season and finished second this season. Has a chip on his shoulder to prove he's one of the top linebackers in the area if not the state.    2023 stats: 91 total tackles, 12.0 TFL, 2.0 sacks    [player_tooltip player_id='1315994' first='Malakhi' last='Boone'] | LB | Class of 2025 | South Sumter | @BooneMalakhi    Hawkins is a true head hunter for the Raiders that led his team in total tackles and finished second in tackles for loss. Has a solid frame for the next level and a good motor and mindset to keep progressing on and off the field.    Offers: Duke, Liberty, USF, and more   2023 stats: 85 total tackles | 21.0 TFL | 8.0 sacks    Cedric Townsend | DB | 2025 | Mulberry | @Gokrazi_cool   Talk about wanting to put your name on the map. Townsend has made the most of his love for Mulberry and had a breakout game against Santa Fe, totaling 3 interceptions with a 108-yard pick-six. He also added 3 tackles, 1 PBU, and 1 TFL. He has 80+ total tackles for a defensive back is why he made the list.    Omari Russel | DB | Class of 2026 | Fort Meade | @omari_russell   Russel is one of the top DB prospects in the county no matter the class. He's a long and athletic player with a good IQ for his age. Really good speed and hands he uses to cash in interceptions. Should see an uptick in college interest as the season concludes.    Stats: 31 total tackles, 4 INTs   Ashton White | LB | 2024 | Fort Meade | @Ashtontofye23   White is the leader and head hunter of the Miners' linebacker core and he showed that throughout the season.
