New England Rising Talents From Fall 11/24/23

It is now time to begin evaluating and selecting those deserving prospects identified to have the skills and talent to play at the collegiate level. On offense, you can see him willing to block on the perimeter or carry the ball inside or outside defenses. He runs downhill and has good power in lower body to break tackles. On defense, he reacts quickly and well to run support.  Has clips defending the edge, and playing inside and good angle pursuits defending outside runs. An obvious burst is seen when he gets past 1st level defenders. He is more advanced in physical capacity for his age. He can also be a threat out of the backfield in the passing game. He is a threat to take it to the house each time he carries the ball. Johnson is blessed with ball-hawking skills.  He has great instincts and reacts quickly to any ball in the air. His film displays his desire to high top the ball in the air and his high level of athleticism.  Has good balance and body control.  Flashes excellent hands and will lay his body out to make the difficult catches when needed. His superior field vision allows him to excel at safety and use his ball-hawking skills to make turnovers. He can and is willing to strike through the receiver after the catch to force a turnover. Appears comfortable in playing press man or zone coverages.
