The first round of the state playoffs has arrived in the Lone Star State. A busy few days is on the horizon for many teams and players across the state. We are going highlight some prospects to keep an eye on this week as the playoffs heat up.

[player_tooltip player_id='281657' first='Lance' last='Jackson']-Defensive Lineman-Texarkana Pleasant Grove-2025

[player_tooltip player_id='281657' first='Lance' last='Jackson'] is a versatile defensive lineman that can play all over the field for Pleasant Grove. He has impressive speed and comes off of the edge quickly. Jackson gets into the opposing offensive backfield quickly and disrupts both the run and the passing attacks. The Pleasant Grove defensive lineman has the potential to have an impressive playoff. Keep an eye on Jackson this week.

[player_tooltip player_id='942558' first='Baron' last='Tipton']-Wide Receiver-Coppell-2024

[player_tooltip player_id='942558' first='Baron' last='Tipton'] is a wide receiver that seems to have a nose for finding the end zone. During the course of the season, Tipton found the end zone 11 times. He has impressive athletic ability and has no problem high pointing the football. Tipton has good speed and can stretch the field on vertical routes with very little difficulty. At 6'4”, he is a difficult wide receiver for opposing defensive backs to account for on the field. He is a player to watch out for as the playoffs get going.

[player_tooltip player_id='270019' first='Colin' last='Simmons']-Defensive Line-Duncanville-2024

Over the past few seasons, [player_tooltip player_id='270019' first='Colin' last='Simmons'] has had no problem taking over football games on the defensive side of the ball. Simmons does a great job of defeating blocks and getting into the opposing offensive backfield. He is a versatile defensive lineman that can pressure the quarterback or shut down the rushing attack. A year ago, Duncanville proved just how dangerous of team they are by winning the state championship. I look for Duncanville and Simmons to both be dangerous in the playoffs this season.

Kayvion Sibley-Running Back-Allen-2024

The Allen running back is an explosive runner that has no trouble breaking into the open field. He does a great job of finding the rushing lanes and does a good job of showing patience and allowing the blockers to clear a path. Sibley rarely needs to come off of the field and can be used well in the passing game. The Allen offense has been impressive all season and I look for Sibley to make plenty of noise as the playoffs get going this week. Watch out for Sibley and Allen this week.

[player_tooltip player_id='628988' first='Cash' last='McCollum']-Quarterback-China Spring-2024

[player_tooltip player_id='628988' first='Cash' last='McCollum'] is another prospect that has experienced playoff success before. He does a great job of making decisions with the football. McCollum does not force the football into tight situations. He is a quarterback that has the accuracy to make the throws needed to get complete the pass. McCollum spreads the ball around to his wide receivers and is a force to watch out for in the playoffs this season.
