The D2 district finals had some great performances, especially on offense. We had some massive scores with multiple teams putting up 50+ points. This article will showcase five great performances from the pre-district round!

QB/RB | [player_tooltip player_id='252599' first='Colton' last='Kinnie'] | Seaholm

Stats: Rushing - 22 Carries, 121yds, 4TDs | Passing - 3/4, 52yds, 2TDs (AP: 173yds and 6 TDs)

Colton was in the zone against Groves last Friday night. The senior QB has done nothing but improve year after year, and in his 3rd season starting under center, he's playing his best football. Dropping 56 on Groves is extremely impressive, especially for a triple-option offense, and a lot of that has to do with Colton. The film you see below shows lots of excellent reads, a few great throws, and a ton of hard running. The physicality that Colton runs with is very impressive. I'd also like to give a shout to the supporting cast; the O-Line & rest of the skill players. Great all-around performance by this offense.

From what I know Colton is a great baseball prospect, but I could also see him become a power RB for a D2 or D3 school, likely as a walk-on. His skills as a veer QB would also translate incredibly well to D1 Rugby.

RB/ATH | [player_tooltip player_id='665530' first='Jon' last='Jasionowski'] | Livonia Franklin

Stats: Rushing - 23 Carries, 152yds, 2TDs | Receiving - 5 Catches, 161yds, 2TDs

Jon put the team on his back in a hard-fought loss to Waterford Mott. Racking up over 300 AP yards, he absolutely exposed the Mott run defense. As a RB, Jon showed great patience, vision, and burst. There are several highlights where he gains several extra yards while navigating through defenders between the tackles. In the passing game, he ran routes all over the field and made the most of his opportunities. He exposed holes in the secondary and the QB did a great job with timing on the short routes and hitting him on the deep routes. Quick shoutout to Junior QB [player_tooltip player_id='899484' first='Derek' last='Hetu'] for a great throw on a wheel route to Jasionowski; I'm surprised the Raiders didn't call for his services on Monday Night.

RB | [player_tooltip player_id='604131' first='Ronny' last='Johnson'] | Dexter

Stats: 187 rush yds, 4TDs

Ronny torched Allen Park with his speed. Alongside great blocking and timid defenders, Ronny was able to light up the scoreboard. The run at 1:26 shows some great improvisation and athleticism in the open field. Other than that, it looks like he followed his great blocks and used his speed to pretty effortlessly rack up yardage. I expect Ronny to have another great performance this weekend against Carlson.

QB | Ethan Mason | Saginaw Heritage

Stats: Rushing- 95yds, 3TDs | Passing - 206yds, 1TD

Ethan is the only one on this list that I don't have film of yet- but the stats tell the story quite well. The Heritage moved the ball at will against a usually strong TC Central defense. Responsible for just over 300 yards, Ethan had himself a day.

LB | [player_tooltip player_id='602239' first='Darekeo' last='Speech'] | Muskegon

Stats: 9 Tackles, FF

It's definitely more difficult to find defensive standouts for these articles, but here we have an obvious one. Starting at the 0:20 mark you can see an impressive goalline stuff by Dareko followed by a forced fumble. His next highlight shows good reaction as he shoots the gap and finishes the tackle on a stumbling ball carrier. From watching Darekeo in the past, I know he's a solid linebacker who has some great moments. In order for Muskegon to win a state title, him and the defense will have to continue to perform!
