Game Report: Columbus Lakeview @ Douglas County West

Game Recap   This was a great game to attend and be at. Even though it was a cold both of these teams played an great game. It was very defensive and both team always had an response. The game started off with a 0-0 tie after the first quarter. Both offenses were getting stuffed at the line almost every play. During the second quarter Lakeview would get a drive going and make a field goal going up 3 nothing at halftime over Douglas County West. The Vikings would score the first touchdown with a run by [player_tooltip player_id='706218' first='Derek' last='Line']. The Falcons would strike back with [player_tooltip player_id='408767' first='Brady' last='Singer'] scoring an 8 yard touchdown. After another stop the Falcons would score on an miracle screen pass to Singer. He would take it to score putting the Flacons up for their first lead of the game. Not long after that [player_tooltip player_id='1815376' first='Blake' last='Rathbone'] would score on a trick play. The handoff was then handed off to Rathbone who would take it about 60 yards for a touchdown putting the Vikings in the lead once again. [player_tooltip player_id='408450' first='Ryker' last='Wohlers'] took that Viking touchdown personally. He would return the kickoff from the 20 taking it all the way to score putting the Falcons up 21-17 taking the lead again! The Falcons defense would hold the Vikings and get the ball back leading to [player_tooltip player_id='1030026' first='Michael' last='Croom'] putting the game away with a 13 yard touchdown.   Offensive Standouts   [player_tooltip player_id='408767' first='Brady' last='Singer'] RB 2024   Brady has carried the Falcons offense this season having an amazing game this week and almost every week before. Before this game he has had 754 yards on 105 carries and 10 touchdowns. In this game he had 18 carries for 112 yards and another touchdown. At this point at the end of the season Singer is at a total of 162 carries for 1,176 yards and 15 touchdowns.    [player_tooltip player_id='706218' first='Derek' last='Line'] RB 2024   Derek had a great game his performance was what kept the Vikings ahead for a majority of the game. A dominant runner his 45 yard touchdown was set up perfectly. down the stretch he was able to outrun the secondary and get to the end zone. He also has the perfect running back trait of carries defensive players with him down the field.    [player_tooltip player_id='1815376' first='Blake' last='Rathbone'] RB 2026   Rathbone showed off his potential in a wonderful trick play on fake running back dive which then became an end around. Rathbone showed his ability to maneuver and gain speed once breaking through the first line of defense. He is definitely going to be a player to look out for in the future.    Defensive Standouts   [player_tooltip player_id='516217' first='Jonas' last='Meairs-Richman'] SS 2024   Jonas is a swiss army knife playing multiple positions on the offense he has came in as a quarterback. He has had 19 passes for 206 yards and 4 touchdowns. On the ground he has had 17 rushes for 83 yards and a touchdown. In this game he had 10 tackles adding 52 tackles he had before the game against the Lakeview.      Charlie Wood LB 2024   Charlie ahs also had a great year tearing it up on defense. He has averaged around 8.5 tackles per game including the game against Lakeview. Against the Vikings he had 12 tackles on the day stopping the run at helping the Falcons stop the Vikings. He also had a total of 5 TFLs before this game.    Hudson Jarecki LB 2024   Hudson dominated the game against Lakeview. with 13 total tackles on the day. Like his teammates on this defense. Including the game against Lakeview Jarecki averaged about 7.4 tackles per game.
