Milton at Grayson
The Grayson Rams got wrecked in the first game of the season, but behind the leadership of new head coach Santavious Bryant, the Rams have gone on to win 11 of their last 12 games, and have been playing outstanding defense of late. They upset the might Buford Wolves at home this past weekend, and a big reason why was because of the play of their defense, including elite sophomore linebacker Tyler Atkinson Tyler Atkinson 6'3" | 185 lbs | LB Grayson | 2026 State GA . He and the Rams sacked the 5-star Buford QB multiple times and made enough plays on offense towards the end to secure the win. Quarterback J.D Davis has big play potential and can be a dangerous runner. His receivers need to step up after a poor performance against Buford, but the Rams defense is the reason they’re back in the semi-finals. They’re playing sound, fundamental football, and will get the Eagles at home this Friday night.
The Milton Eagles are without a doubt one of the best and most talented teams across the state. Led by head coach Ben Reaves, the Eagles are coming off a big home win against Colquitt County last weekend. They have Power Five talent all over the place, and it starts with quarterback, Luke Nickel Luke Nickel 6'2" | 195 lbs | QB Milton | 2025 State GA . A fantastic junior already committed to play at Miami, Nickel was outstanding against Colquitt County, throwing for 302 yards and four touchdowns along with 117 rushing yards and another score. He’s got some playmakers on offense with Texas A&M commit Debron Gatling Debron Gatling 6'2" | 180 lbs | WR Milton | 2024 State GA at wide receiver and Auburn tight end commitment Ryan Ghea Ryan Ghea 6'5" | 220 lbs | TE Milton | 2025 State GA . Defensively, they have some sleeper defensive linemen who should see their recruitment pick up, along with multiple Tennessee commitments in the secondary. This is a talented, well-coached team that has something special about them. They’re won 8 in a row, and they’re one more win away from a 7A state title appearance.
Walton at Camden County
The Walton Raiders are looking like the very best team in Georgia right now. The mighty Raiders have demolished every team in their path this season and are coming off a massive 56-35 win over Carrollton. Led by senior quarterback and Wake Forest commitment Jeremy Hecklinski Jeremy Hecklinski 6'0" | 180 lbs | QB Walton | 2024 State GA , the Raiders are scoring at least 35 points in every game so far this season. Hecklinski has played as well as any quarterback in Georgia this year, throwing for over 3,000 yards and 39 touchdowns. They have a great rushing attack, a stout offensive line, and some big-time pass-catchers. Defensively, the Raiders have linebackers committed to South Carolina and North Carolina. They have talent across the board, and it’s showing up on the scoreboard. Nobody has been able to slow them down, but they’ve got a big challenge ahead of them as they drive down to Kingsland this weekend.
The Camden County Wildcats may have three losses so far this season, but they’re playing their very best football right now. They’ve played tough, disciplined football recently and are coming off a very impressive win over the Mill Creek Hawks who took home the 7A crown last season. The Wildcats may not have the talent Walton does, they do have 5-star TE/DE Elyiss Williams Elyiss Williams 6'8" | 220 lbs | TE Camden County | 2025 State GA on the roster. Still, they’ll need everyone on the field to play their very best if they want to upset the undefeated Raiders. If there’s one strength offensively, it’s their run game. The Wildcats have rushed for 3,314 yards this season for an average of 255 yards per game. They’ve also rushed for an incredible 43 touchdowns. They play with some toughness and know how to wear teams down. Defensively, they’re playing as well as they have all season, holding each of their last four opponents to less than 21 points.
