The province of British Columbia has been known to consistently produce some of the best defensive football talent in the country at the high school level and the class of 2024 is no different. This years class consists of the two best players in the province who are also two of the best in all of Canada. The rest of the group aren't too bad themselves as they were all named to the provincial all star team and should be on the radar for every CIS program as well as multiple Division 1 programs

Listed at 6'4u0022 220 lbs while also running the 40 yard dash in 4.89s, Ryder has all of the physical tools to be an impact defensive end at the Power 5 level. He primarily lined up as a 7 technique in a 4-3 defense but also showed the versitalty due to his physical traits to line up as a 5 technique in 3-4 defense when called upon. Ryder is an elite run defender, combining high-end compete and motor with elite field vision allows him to get into the backfield to make the tackle or to force the RB to change direction away from him right into the arms of his fellow defensive lineman. With his physical tools and elite field vision Ryder became the best pass rusher in western Canada during his senior season. He has a wide array of impressive pass rush moves to get to the Quarterback including a Jump Swim move and a much improving Bend move to beat Offensive Tackles which led to an absurd 82% pass rush win rate in his final game. His hand usage to beat Tackles is also very impressive for someone who is still very new to using his hands to beat offensive lineman. The only negative is he has a tendency to rely on his strength to beat offensive lineman as opposed to using his agility and speed. Watching the tape there is no doubt that Ryder is one of the top players in Canada and should be on the radar of multiple Power 5 schools.","_player_evaluations_0_evaluation":"field_62aba51aecf34","player_evaluations":1,"_player_evaluations":"field_62aba7547dc44"},"mode":"preview","alignText":"left","anchor":"acf-block-655eba2c5dc1a"} /-->

Having finished with 42 Tackles and 9.0 Sacks in 11 games lining up primarily as a defensive end. The first thing that is noticable on film is his speed off the edge which allowed him to a have a pretty high sack total while not being as productive as a run defender. Listed at 6'0u0022 180 lbs he projects to have the ability to be able to play as a outside linebacker or defensive back at the Power 5 level as he has elite speed with a high-end motor combined with the field vision of a running back to come downhill on correct angles from the second or third level of the defense. With the experience of coming off of the edge in high school but the physical tools of a Power 5 linebacker and defensive back Jaxon Allan should be high on the radar of Power 5 schools.","_player_evaluations_0_evaluation":"field_62aba51aecf34","player_evaluations":1,"_player_evaluations":"field_62aba7547dc44"},"mode":"preview","alignText":"left","anchor":"acf-block-655eba2c5dd17"} /-->

Listed at 6'2u0022 225lbs Rocco finished the season with a province leading 15.0 Sacks in 8 games lining up primarily as a 3 technique and a 7 technique in a 4-3 defense. Rocco displays elite hand usage at the point of attack to beat offensive guards and tackles whether he is lined up in the interior or on the outside. He combines his elite hands with an exceptional burst off the line which allows him to quickly attack offensive lineman. He can still work on improving his leverage as he can get very high off of the line which would lead to him getting washed out versus better lineman at the next level. He posses very good to elite speed that shows through on tape combined with elite field vison which allows him to be on the right attack angle 9/10 times. He improved drastically in zone coverage throughout the year as he drastically improved his ability to read the QB's eyes allowing him to flow better to where the pass is eventually thrown while also being elite at opening and attacking the the wide receiver when the QB begins the throwing motion. While he doesn't have great speed Riley makes up for with very good run/pass recognition. A very good first run step allow Riley to get downhill and fill the gaps exceptionally well by passing any lineman trying to block him. A prototypical downhill run stuffing linebacker who uses his strength very well to make every tackle within his radius as he rarely misses a tackle.
