Roach is well on his way to having a fantastic high school career. His freshman tape has been great, they've yet to lose a game and just won the Sectional Championship with Roach being an impact player. He's started and played DB all year, then rotated in at QB when needed and asked to, and shown a ton of promise. At DB, he's smooth and doesn't overthink it. He can cover quite a bit of ground because he's such a good athlete. He'll come up and help with run support as well. Overall, a sound DB, but his calling card will be QB. To come in and look as comfortable as he has as a freshman is such a good sign. He's also got solid footwork for a very young QB and has the arm to make most throws. His accuracy and touch on the ball downfield is where he'll pull apart from the crowd. While I don't have any stats for Roach, they aren't really needed at the moment. It's about the eye test and being able to play off-script, which is where Roach is thriving.

[player_tooltip player_id='1128487' first='Logan' last='Dent'] - Salem - RB - 5'11" 185lbs - 2027

Dent has burst onto the scene for Salem and looks like he's well on his way to a phenomenal career. He's a thick-back who is well-built and can absorb contact. The best part is he's fairly athletic and nimble with good bend and wiggle. He's able to get to the corner and has good vision to find the cutback lanes. Being in a triple-option offense, he'll have plenty of opportunity over his career, but he's also been efficient. Ripping off big plays in an offense designed to bog down the mesh point is a good sign because it shows the ability to create on the regular. To put up over 1000 yards and 7 TDs as a freshman is a very good sign of things to come, especially when you have the frame and athletiscm he does. Dent is young, on the rise, and a back that could easily continue rising for years to come.

[player_tooltip player_id='1065627' first='Jackson' last='Kling'] - Mitchell - LB - 5'9" 205lbs - 2027

Kling stepped on the field this season for Mitchell and was immediately their best player on defense. So much so, that he earned a team captain badge. That in itself, before any on-field accolades, speaks volumes to me. I know immediately the knock against him would be his height, but let's remember he's a freshman in high school. He could shoot up to 6'2" by tomorrow night. Even if he doesn't, the relentless motor and high-level effort he gives on every single down will get him where he needs to be in the football world. He's also got a great feel for the game and how to collapse the running game. More or less, he lived in the backfield this season while creating consistent pressure and helping clamp down the run. His speed off the line and ability to get in the backfield immediately is what has him way ahead of the curve. Being able to time the snap is one thing, but having the athletic ability to do something with it is another. 95 tackles, 25 TFLs, 2 sacks, and 3 forced fumbles are the numbers he's put up in year 1. He should be an All-State player this year for the 2027 class in my opinion and if not, something is wrong. Kling's production and leadership speak for themselves, and this was only year 1.
