The junior safety is starting to pick up steam in recruiting taking multiple game-day visits this season. No surprise that there is a lot of interest from division 1 coaches with how impressive his junior film is. Bownes is a versatile safety that has a lot of speed that can cover ground in the back half. He is also a physical player which allows him to come down and play in the box as well. His abilities project him to play multiple roles within a defense and give him a high stock in recruiting.  The do-it-all safety will check a lot of boxes for coaches who are evaluating 2025 defensive backs. He is a smart player that trust his eyes which allows him to play fast. He always seems to be a step ahead putting him great position to make plays. He ended his junior year with multiple pass breakups and 2 interceptions. He is also fantastic in run support, flying down hill when he sees run and finishing plays with big hits. His lack of height is probably the only trait holding him back from multiple division 1 offers to this point. He plays the linebacker position the way it was meant to be played. He runs sideline to sideline 100 mph, never taking plays off. He is extremely physical and easily one of the hardest hitters I have seen in awhile. He is a long physical player that does a lot for Libertyville's defense. His speed at the linebacker position will be what sets him apart. He was active this year with 75 tackles as a junior. He is an explosive player with a great first step and get off. He plays with a great motor showing up on plays with his high effort. He was an elite pass rusher in 2023 getting consistant pressure on opposing quarterbacks. He possess the skill set to play either defensive end of outside linebacker at the college level.
