Midland ran the ball 34 times compared to 4 passes. . .Week 8 saw two of the wildest games of the season. #2 Midland Legacy lost to #5 Odessa Permian, 32-31, when the Panthers converted a two-point conversion with 10 seconds left. The Panthers drove 89 yards in 19 plays and took more than 9 minutes off the clock to score on Juzstyce Lara's 1-yard TD run. The score pulled Odessa to within 31-30. The Panthers gambled and went for two instead of kicking a game-tying PAT. . . #3 Odessa is 5-2 largely because of their ability to win close games and the Bronchos did it again with a one-point shootout win in overtime over San Angelo Central.
